Our Marie races around the house too. She whacks into furniture and bounces off. When she lands she continues running in the new direction. Makes us dizzy watching her. We have two tall cat towers, one at each end of the living room wall unit. She races up one, runs across the top of the wall unit and down into the other tower. The towers get to rocking and thumping on the wall so loud. I think if they weren't wedged up against the wall unit and the wall they would fall over. She sleeps in them and gets treats in them. Callie only gets up in it to eat her treats. Sophie has a tower out in my sewing room but a lot of times Callie chases her out of it. Sophie is getting a little braver all the time though. A week or so ago I saw her standing up on her hind legs sniffing the bottom shelf of the tower I put Marie's treats in. Last night I was sitting in my recliner with my legs up and Csllie was laying on my legs. Sophie got brave and jumped up on my lap. Callie let her stay for a little while. Sophie got scared and ran off when I coughed. We got all these furries back in 2016. It wasn't until last year in June that Sophie has come out of hiding to spend time in the living room with us. She lets Paula touch her as she walks passed but she won't get up in the chair with her. The other two will walk across her lap to get to me but they don't stay with her. When we first got them they only wanted Paula. Now it is me. Callie sleeps with me but Marie gets up on Paula's bed to play when she goes to sleep. They all have their weird quirks but we love them any way.
Cats are such a joy, even when they are running and tearing up the house. So happy that Sophie is now socializing with you. Dukee tends to scare us sometimes when he gets rambunctious. He will go up to the top ledges of the walls and move a little to quickly up there. I'm so afraid that he will fall. While looking for a new house to rent this next time, we want to make sure that there aren't any ledges for him to get up to.
I know what you mean about getting up high and moving fast. Vic always kept his military boots and shoes up on top of the wall unit so the dogs wouldn't step all over them and scratch them up. Spit shining them was a chore. Paula won't let me move them because that was where her dad kept them. Marie has knocked them down off the top of the unit right down on top of Paula's head. Her recliner sits right in the way of stuff on the top of that unit. Then Marie also lays on the top ledge of the tower and leans way off backwards and stretches with her front legs over her head. We are so afraid she will fall off backwards down on smash herself head first onto the floor. She's just a little roly poly thing but fast and strong. I have to wear oven mitts when I have to catch her to go to see the vet. It took me about 3 hours to catch her last time we went. That was last May. It's time again and I have been putting it off because she is so hard to catch. She sinks her teeth and claws into me because she absolutely hates to be picked up. We can touch her, pet her, kiss her nose but do NOT act like you intend to pick her up. The claws come out then. She evens gets in my lap but if I try to hug her she's gone. Callie is so heavy but I can pick her up for a minute or so before she struggles to get away. Sophie is still real skittish and doesn't want to be picked up but she tolerates it more. She's come a long way since June.

Forgive me for laughing but that is funny.
