My sister has a son who is color blind to all colors. He was home alone watching TV when my sister got home one day. He was in grade school. She asked him why he didn't fix the colors on the screen. His answer was "we have a color TV?" She couldn't believe nobody knew. She asked how in the lower grades he always got good grades on the papers that said color the sky blue, the grass green etc. He said he always looked at the crayon labels and matched them to the colors the papers said to use. She has another son who doesn't see reds and greens. They found that out one night when they went to open house at his school. He told them to be sure a look at his Santa Clause picture. He said he put big red lips on him so they could tell his from all the others. He was with them but he wouldn't point it out. They said they couldn't find it. He took them right to it and said look, big red lips. There was Santa with big green lips. My son doesn't see reds and greens either. My dad was born with cataracts in both eyes and didn't see colors either. When he was in his twilight years he finally had them removed and he could ser colors for the first time. He was like a kid in the candy store. "What color is this, and this, and this etc. All my growing up years when he was doing electrical things at home we had to help him get the correct color wires hooked up. My favorite color is purple.

Wow that's quite something that no one realized his color blindness. As for your dad, I bet being able to see color for the first time in his life was amazing. Thank you for sharing your stories Margaret and thank you for reading. I hope that you have been well.

We had a bit of a set back Thursday. We had been up all Wednesday night working jigsaw puzzles. About 6:30am Thursday morning Paula decided we could finally go to bed. She was in the batroom and hollared for help. Her left arm was numb from leaning on it for hours working the puzzle and she couldn't do the paperwork. I wiped her but and stepped back so she could wash her hand when she said her foot wouldn't move and she was going down. I grabbed the transfer shower bench and put it under her and she landed on it. After a few minutes of sitting she tried standing again. Down again she went but missed the bench. This time she landed on her back on the floor with her knee bent up and her foot was up by her waist but was wedged under the sink.. I finally got it out. She refused help from 911 and wanted to lay there to sleep. I quit arguing, got her a pillow and got in my bed. About and hour later she yelled she was cold and needed a blanket. This time she agreed to 911. They came and got her into bed and they left. An hour later she hollared she needed to potty so I got the bedside commode set up and tried to get her up. She lost her balance again and fell into me and knocked me down into her laundry basket then landed on top of me. I heard and felt a loud snap. It was excursiating. I finally got out from under her and hopped on one foot over to her walker and then hopped out to the phone. The same 911 crew came back and this time I told them to get her to the ER. Long story short she broke the fibula in her ankle. The hospital put a walking boot on her and kept her overnight. I drove myself to the same ER and they said nothing in my leg was broke but there was a lot of damage to my knee. So now for the next week or so we are both using walkers. I have a brace on my knee. I can put a lot more weight on my foot now but not back to normal yet. If it still bothers after another few days they said I need to see an ortho dr. I have to get Paula in to see her ortho dr too. That will need to wait a few more days until I am sure I can get her wheelchair in an out of the truck. But we are not letting this get the best of us.

Oh my goodness, that was quite a night for you two. Well, my prayers are with you both for a speedy recovery. Take it easy though and don't rush things. God bless you.
