Every morning as we open our eyes we welcome a new day. With every day it can be a new beginning so let's take advantage of it. Breathe deep, lightly stretch, and be thankful for what you have.
We all have times of stress and sadness which is normal but let's try not to focus on it. Look around and find the joy in each day. Whether it's the smile from your spouse, the hug from your child, or the cuteness of your fur baby.
Open your eyes and look for the simple things that will make you feel thankful and blessed. I am thankful for my family, my fur baby, a roof over my head, the flowers and nature that I see, and the blessings that God gives me. What are you thankful for?
Our fur baby Callie was asleep on my lap last week and must have had a nightmare. She woke up screaming and tried to kill my hand. It hurt so bad I didn't think and I smacked her so hard she flew off my lap. She has forgiven me but as a result I got a massive deep infection. Nothing I have tried has improved it so yesterday I went to Urgent Care. They said I waited too long and now I needed to see a surgeon. They sent me immediately to one and when I got there I found out his dad was the surgeon who did my Dupytren's Contraction surgery 3 years ago. He said I had to have surgery and set it up for first thing this morning. So we arrived at the surgery center at o'dark thirty hours. The two ladies checking me in said "aren't you sarge's wife. He was the best. You sewed so many patches on our uniforms and fixed so many seams and buttons and you fixed us so many meals. We miss him so much." I told them I don't remember all their names and faces but I love when they recognize me because they bring back so many good memories. Oh and Callie crawled under my covers last night and slept curled by my backside. Tomorrow I go for a whirlpool bath for my hand to pull out any residual infection. No bones were damaged but she did get a tendon so we well see if it will give me trouble later on. The important thing is she has forgiven me for swatting her half way across the room. We love these goof-balls of fur so much.
