Hello Readers, friends, and family. I hope that you are doing very well for this last day in March of 2025. I want to throw out a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who read my writing, follow me and subscribe to my newsletter. Whether you realize it or not it is very inspiring to us writers to have you in our corners. Without you some of us writers will give up on this type of career. Yes, some of us writers write because we enjoy it, but some other’s need more validation. Let’s face it, we all like encouragement and kudos from time to time about something that we do, right?
Well, that brings me to a few ideas that you can do that will help your favorite writers. First, wherever you find the writers work that you enjoy reading such as, Substack, Facebook, X (Twitter), Amazon, or anywhere else, find the follow button and follow them. By following them online, you will be able to keep updated on new things that each writer is doing or will be doing.
Second, If the writer is a published author, please write a review if you purchased and enjoyed his or her books. A good review will help the writer get noticed and hopefully sell more copies of their books. See, your review is sort of like a small advertisement for the author which helps them in the long run. Not all writers can afford to have their work advertised on a regular basis. So what you as the reader does is greatly appreciated.
And third, when you read a written piece by them on Facebook, X, Instagram, Substack, etc. click the like button or heart if you enjoyed the piece. This simple gesture shows other readers that this writer might be of interest to them. Also include a comment from time to time, it helps too. There are so many writers who give up too early because they feel that their hard work of writing is not appreciated. Those simple gestures shown by readers will give the writer a boost of confidence to continue, plus it helps to attract other readers.
As for the writers, do not give up. If you love to write then write. You might not be able to make writing a fulltime career from the start though. It takes a long time to get your work noticed, especially if fiction writing is your niche. I prefer writing fiction over most and have found that out. Not everyone will like your style or taste of fiction. Some people will tell you that real life writing attracts more readers and I can understand that. Just like reality TV attracts viewers to all the real life drama that they have.
But even though I do write mostly fiction, every once in awhile I will write something informational like this one. I also like to write pieces that inspire people as well, such as my “Happy Thoughts” posts that I do most Tuesdays. I have also been working on a book of inspiration that I hope to publish by the end of this year (2025). It is a lot of work to write, edit, re-write, start over etc. but if you love doing it then keep at it. There will be at least one reader out there who will love what you write, I am sure of that.
But readers, friends and family, thank you again for your desire to read, laugh, learn and sometimes cry. You are the ones that keep many of us writers going. You show that people still want to read even when most of it is in a digital format now. I honestly hope that the printing of physical books never die though because when I want to read a book, I prefer a physical copy in my hand. I guess I think of it like a souvenir of that particular author. Anyways, do not forget to hit that like button and let your friends know about your favorite writers. And take care and thank you.

I second this. That's how I built my follower group-cum-support network on all the ones I am on.
