Joann walked into the ER room carrying her ice coffee and her aunt Cathy’s hot coffee. She looked at her cousin Linda lying there and saw that there was no change with her yet. Joann could see the sadness in her aunt's face as she stood by Linda’s bedside.
“Aunt Cathy, why don’t you sit down here and enjoy the coffee that I got you,” Joann stood by the chair.
Cathy walked over to Joann, “thank you, dear, I’m so happy that you are here.”
Cathy sat down and sipped her coffee while Joann walked over to Linda. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked at her cousin lying there pale and lifeless. You have to get better, Joann thought. She wiped the running tears from her cheek and then sat down. Joann sipped her ice coffee and silently prayed to God for him to heal her cousin Linda.
Just then, Dr. Green walked into the room with the results of the MRI. He told Cathy and Joann that they caught a glimpse of something inside of Linda’s head. Dr. Green explained that the object appears to be almost transparent and that is why it wasn’t captured on the CT scan. He told them that it’s located on the left side of Linda’s brain slightly above the ear canal.
“I knew it!” Joann said.
“So, what can be done? You have to get that thing out of there,” Cathy looked at him.
“We are going to talk to Dr. Giovanni. He is the brain surgeon in our area. If he accepts the case, he should be able to remove it,” Dr. Green said.
Even though Cathy was full of questions, Dr. Green told her that he won’t know anything else until Dr. Giovanni looks at the results. Meanwhile, Linda’s vitals are good and the blood tests came back normal. Joann got up and walked over to her aunt Cathy. She put her hand on her aunt's shoulder to try and comfort her. Dr. Green said that he will be back after he talks Dr. Giovanni and then left the room.
“Linda will be fine aunt Cathy,” Joann rubbed Cathy’s shoulder.
Unsure as to why this is happening to her daughter, Cathy started to cry. Joann stood there consoling her aunt, but looked at Linda and thought, an alien implant, I wonder why they picked Linda. Joann told Cathy that Linda has always been a strong person and that she will make it through this.
Cathy looked up at Joann and smiled, “you’re right, she is strong, and she will conquer this just like she has everything else.”
Joann walked over to Linda and told her that she’s got this, before picking up her ice coffee off her chair. Then Cathy got up and walked to Linda’s bedside. She looked at her and told her that she has made it through all the struggles that came her way as a little girl, so now she will make it through this one as a young adult. Joann walked up to Linda’s bed and touched aunt Cathy’s hand. Cathy looked at Joann and smiled.
“We all, once again, will make it through this,” Cathy said.
While Joann and Cathy waited to hear back from the doctor, sheriff Luis, at the police station had his hands full. Once word got out that Linda was abducted and brought back by aliens, other people in town reported seeing a UFO that same night. It had been many years since the last report of a UFO sighting in the area, and now it started up again. Sheriff Luis and deputy Rhonda Dean talked with a few different people that said, they saw the spacecraft fly over their subdivision.
Another person said that their dog went missing that same night, and wondered if the aliens took him. Deputy Dean tried to reassure the man that his dog probably got scared and ran away. While the sheriff was trying to get order back in the police station, Jackie Brown walked in. Sheriff Luis looked at the door and saw Jackie standing there. He motioned another deputy to come over and assist the other townspeople.
Sheriff Luis walked up to Jackie and asked what he could do for her. He already knew that she was probably going to ask about the alleged abduction and return. Because it had been ten years ago to the date, that Jackie made a report of her only son being abducted by aliens. She still swears that she saw her seven-year-old son being lifted into the spaceship by the bright light that shined down from the opening. And now that the sheriff heard a similar story ten years later from Cathy and Joann, he was ready for her questions.
