After Deputy Rhonda Dean did some paperwork, she met with Peter at the entrance of the preserve. The plan was to put two video cameras up in the location where Linda was found. But now with the eye-witnessed disappearance of Steve, the sheriff wants one of the camera’s put up on top of the mountain too. Peter told deputy Dean that he can also set up still shot camera’s that will snap a picture of anything that moves in front of it.
“This sounds like one of those ghost hunting shows,” Rhonda said.
“Well, yes, for the most part, except you’re hunting aliens instead of ghosts,” Peter said.
Deputy Dean assisted Peter with the setup at the preserve and then planned to meet with him again the next day. Peter told her that he will know when the the video cameras start recording, because he will receive a notification on his phone.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Linda finished eating a turkey sandwich that the food service gave her for lunch. She also enjoyed a vanilla ice cream cup and a carton of milk. Cathy and Joann were going to wait to eat until they all got to leave together in a couple of hours. Dr. Giovanni stopped by Linda’s room to look at her incision for the last time. He told Cathy that the implant doesn’t seem to have affected Linda in any negative ways which was good. Cathy wasn’t sure if she should say anything about the visions that Linda has had.
Would telling the doctor about the young man that Linda saw in the mirror matter? Or what about the bad dream that Linda had last night of alien ships bombing the earth? Cathy didn’t want her daughter to sound like she was crazy, or making stuff up for attention. As it was, she was surprised about the dream when Linda told them about it this morning. Dr. Giovanni told Linda that she could leave the incision uncovered now but don’t get it wet yet for another day.
“Oh, okay, but Dr. Green said to leave it covered until tomorrow,” Linda said.
“Either way is all right, but it looks good now so you can keep the bandage off or I’ll put it back on. It’s up to you,” Dr. Giovanni said.
“You can leave it off, and thank you,” Linda smiled.
Cathy thanked Dr. Giovanni for taking such good care of her daughter. He wished them all well and told Cathy that he signed the release for Linda to go home today. After the doctor left, Linda got up from the bed and took her clothes out from the cabinet to put on. She couldn’t wait to leave the hospital and sleep in her own bed again. Joann was still staring at her cell phone and going through pages and pages of missing persons.
“I think I found him,” Joann stood up from the chair.
“Found who?” Cathy asked.
Joann called Linda to come out of the bathroom and look at the picture she found.
Linda walked out fixing her hair, “what picture?”
Joann showed Linda the picture of the young eight-year-old boy with short dark hair. Linda held Joann’s phone and examined the picture. He had the same skin color, brown eyes, and even a small scar near his eyebrow.
“Yes, that might be him. Who is he?” Linda handed the phone back to Joann.
Joann started to read, “Darren Brown, he was reported missing by his mother ten years ago. It says here that she saw a bright light from a UFO lift him up from the ground. Then something pulled him inside, and then it flew away.”
“Are you saying that I might have seen someone who was also kidnapped but not brought back?” Linda sat down and put her socks on.
“Well, let’s not jump to any conclusions girls. For one thing, it was only a vision you had,” Cathy looked at Linda.
“That’s true, but what if that means that he is still alive. Shouldn’t we tell the police?” Linda said.
“Let’s think about this Linda. We have no physical proof that you were even abducted by alien’s. What makes you think that the police will believe that you saw someone who was abducted ten years ago?” Her mom said.
Linda and Joann looked at each other. They agreed to not say anything as of yet, but want to figure out what can be done to help Mrs. Brown.
