Cathy asked Deputy Rhonda Dean to sit down and offered her a cup of coffee. Deputy Dean was more interested in where they found Linda. Cathy explained to her that this is going to sound insane but that it was the truth. She went on to tell the deputy that while she and Joann were out at the preserve looking for Linda, a bright light appeared in the sky. Cathy told her that it was right over the field where Linda dropped her phone. She said that the two of them walked closer to the field and saw a large dark spacecraft coming down.
“Are you going to tell me that you saw an alien spaceship?” The deputy looked at Cathy.
Just then, Joann walked into the room, “yes, we did, and it brought Linda back to us.”
Deputy Dean looked at Joann and was dumbfounded by what she just heard.
“Would you like that coffee now?” Cathy asked the deputy.
“No thank you, please go on, tell me what you saw.”
Cathy continued and told the deputy everything that had happened. Deputy Dean asked them if they took any videos or pictures of the craft. But they shook their heads no and explained that they were both so surprised and scared that they didn’t even think about it. Deputy Dean understood and didn’t expect much more of them.
“Mom?” Linda walked into the living room.
“Linda, you should be resting,” Cathy rushed over to her.
“Don’t you think that you should take her to the hospital?” Deputy Dean suggested. “After all, you did say an alien spacecraft brought her back. She could be sick from radiation or something.”
Cathy asked Linda how she was feeling now that she seemed more coherent. Linda walked over to the other end of the sofa and sat down.
“I’m okay… I’m thirsty and hungry though,” Linda looked at her mom.
By this time, it was almost 11 pm so Cathy went into the kitchen to make a sandwich for Linda. Deputy Dean asked Linda if she remembers anything from her ordeal. Linda told her that right now everything in her mind is a blur. She said that she was just tired and wanted something to eat right now. Deputy Dean said she understood and got up from the chair. Cathy walked back into the living room with a sandwich and a glass of milk.
“I’ll let you all get some rest, but if you don’t mind, I’ll stop back tomorrow?” Deputy Dean said.
“Okay, thank you,” Cathy handed Linda the sandwich and glass of Milk.
Cathy walked the deputy to the front door while Joann sat on the sofa and watched Linda eat her sandwich. Joann noticed that Linda still didn’t look like herself. She was pale and even looked weak. Linda finished her sandwich and gulped down her milk in five minutes though.
“Wow, I guess that you were hungry,” Joann said.
Cathy walked into the living room after saying goodnight to the deputy. She saw that Linda finished her sandwich and milk.
“Okay girls, why don’t you both get some rest,” Cathy picked up the empty glass from the coffee table.
Joann and Linda got up from the sofa, and Linda walked over and hugged her mom. Cathy embraced her daughter and smiled. As Linda released the hug and walked away from her mom, Cathy wished them both goodnight. Joann then walked with Linda to her bedroom and helped her get into bed.
Linda looked at Joann and smiled, “it’s good to see you again cousin.”
Joann smiled back at her and pulled the blanket up over Linda’s arms, “goodnight Linda, I’ll see you in the morning,” Joann walked to the doorway and turned off the light.
