It was around six o’clock in the evening when deputy Rhonda Dean arrived back at the police station. She spent most of the day talking to the people who have said that they have seen UFOs at the preserve. Many of the people saw a UFO hovering over the preserve but they saw it from a different location. Only a couple of them could say exactly where at the preserve they saw it. They told the deputy that it was over the field just where Linda was brought back. Deputy Dean relayed this information to sheriff Luis along with similar details of the spacecraft mentioned by most of the people.
Deputy Dean also told the sheriff that she spoke to someone who is willing to provide video systems for them at no cost. She said that Peter Comb is one of the spotters and is eager to capture more video for more proof that aliens exist. She took out her cell phone and opened up the video that Peter had sent her to show the sheriff. Sheriff Luis watched the somewhat dark video of a bright light moving slowly around in the sky. It moved rather sporadically as Peter captured it, going up and down and then across the sky.
It didn’t seem like it would be an airplane or helicopter making those moves. Deputy Dean also pointed out that the only thing that was heard on the video was Peter's voice at times. The sheriff told deputy Dean that if Peter was willing to do this for them, then go ahead and set it up. The sheriff wasn’t sure how capturing footage of aliens would help solve anything, but it might make a believer out of him.
At the hospital, Linda is feeling good and the incision on her head is healing well. She had just finished eating the chicken dinner the staff served her. Linda decided to save her chocolate pudding cup for later that evening so she set it aside. Cathy and Joann were talking about getting something to eat on their way home in a couple of hours. Linda told her mom that they could go now since she has been there all day anyways. Linda also reassured her mom that she feels great and that she will see them sometime tomorrow.
“Are you sure?” Cathy asked her daughter.
“Yes, I’m sure that you’re tired of hanging around this hospital. I appreciate you being here for me mom but I’m much better now. Go and enjoy your evening with Joann before she has to go back to Texas,” Linda smiled.
“Okay, Joann are you ready to go?” Cathy looked at Joann.
Joann stood up and looked at her cousin Linda, “call me later if you get bored.”
“Okay but I’m just going to relax and watch TV. There is a movie coming on soon that I’ve wanted to see,” Linda picked up the controller with the TV buttons on it.
“What is it, maybe I’ll turn it on so we can watch it too,” Joann said.
“A Dog’s Journey… I’ve wanted to see that since it came out,” Linda said.
“Oh, okay. See you tomorrow,” Joann waved.
“Have a good night sweetheart,” Cathy blew a kiss to Linda.
“Goodnight, see you both tomorrow,” Linda said.
Cathy and Joann left the hospital and then stopped to get a pizza from their favorite pizza place. They decided to make it a movie night as well since that’s what Linda mentioned. By the time Cathy and Joann got home, they both felt more relaxed. Seeing that Linda is doing so well now made it easier for them to enjoy the evening.
“I just thought of something,” Joann giggled.
“What is it?” Cathy asked.
“We should bag up a couple of pieces of pizza for Linda and take them up to her tomorrow. She has always loved cold pizza,” Joann said.
“That’s a good idea,” Cathy unlocked the front door.
Back at the hospital, Linda found the TV station where the movie is supposed to come on. She decided to use the bathroom before the movie started so she pushed the sheet off of her legs. Carefully Linda stood up but grabbed onto the table. She suddenly felt a little weak in her legs. Determined, Linda got her balance, let go of the table, and slowly walked toward the bathroom. She grabbed onto the door frame and entered the bathroom. Linda was in the bathroom for about five minutes when a nurse walked into her room.
“Linda?” The nurse called out.
“I’m in the bathroom,” Linda said.
“Are you okay? Do you need any assistance?”
“No, I’m good thank you,”
The nurse waited to make sure that Linda was alright and could get back to bed. Another three minutes passed and the nurse heard the water running in the sink. When Linda was done and opened the bathroom door she saw the nurse standing there. The nurse noticed a concerned look on Linda’s face and asked her if she was alright. Linda didn’t want to say anything to the nurse about it, so she nodded yes. But for some reason, while she was washing her hands, she saw a vision in the mirror. Linda climbed back into the bed and pulled the sheet up to her waist. The nurse told Linda that if she needs anything during the night to just push the call alert button and she will respond. Linda thanked the nurse before she left the room, and then leaned back on the bed.
