While Dukee and Auntie were in their bedroom, they heard a couple of loud bangs in Mia and Mom’s bedroom. Then all of a sudden, they heard Mia run fast past their room and continue into the front living room. Dukee decided to go out and see what was going on.
Just as Dukee walked out of the bedroom door, Mia ran past again and into her bedroom. Dukee sat down just before the family room and waited to see if she would come back. Not even a minute passed and she ran out of her room but slowed down to trot when she saw Dukee.
“Are you having fun?” Dukee looked at Mia.
“Yes… I’m getting my exercise,” Mia giggled.
“What was all that noise you made in your room?” Dukee asked.
“Oh, I just knocked something off my maids' dresser,” Mia lifted her front right leg and licked it.
“I was thinking about something,” Dukee said.
“About what?” Mia looked at Dukee.
“You know how we see the different people around us outside sometimes?”
“Yeah,” Mia replied.
Well, we should make up pretend stories about them, like we are trying to solve a mystery,” Dukee cocked his head.
“I think that you have been watching too much tv, but okay, it sounds like fun,” Mia said.
“Okay, so let’s start with the lady across the street… We know that she stays in her house all day every day,” Dukee walked into the hallway.
Mia walked along next to Dukee into the hallway, and they turned to go through the kitchen. The two of them walked into the dining room and jumped up onto the bench in front of the window.
“I see her peek out the blinds on the windows sometimes,” Mia said.
“That’s right… So, maybe she’s a spy,” Dukee looked over at the lady's house.
“Yeah, and she watches everyone in the neighborhood,” Mia looked at the house.
“How is she going to watch the whole neighborhood if she doesn’t leave the house?” Dukee said.
“Well, maybe she has cameras all over the neighborhood, and she has TVs in her house to watch us,” Mia stared at the lady's house.
“Yeah, that’s what she does, and then she keeps records and reports to someone else,” Dukee stared at the house.
“I wonder who that someone else would be?” Mia looked at Dukee.
“Let’s think about that,” Dukee said.

Too funny!! I tell everybody that Paula and I are the two old cat ladies on our street who peek out between the blinds to see what all the neighbors are doing when they are outside. Love reading your stories. I also read your friend's story too about the 3 muses. I haven't commented on her story yet. It makes me too sad. I remember how scared we were when Paula was going through her three years of chemo and radiation. I don't know how to put things into words to give her encouragement.
