Mia’s Lamb-chop toy and her pink mouse
Early evening came, and Mom and Auntie got home and walked in the front door. Dukee casually strolled down the hall and Mia trotted past him thinking, It’s about time she’s home. Mia won’t admit it but she’s always happy when Mom gets home.
Dukee rubbed up against Auntie’s leg as she and Dukee walked down the hall to their bedroom. He knew that he usually gets some kind of treat when she arrives home. Mom sat down in her chair in the front living room and Mia hopped on her lap. She gave Mom’s hand a couple of licks and then did a soft bite on her thumb.
When will she learn that she’s not supposed to be gone that long? Mia thought.
Mom started to put her footrest up so Mia hopped down. She was content now that her maid was back home. Mia was so happy that she tossed her Lamb-chop toy up into the air. When it landed on the floor, she jumped on it and laid down. Mia kicked her hind feet and Lamb-chop popped out from underneath her. She played a few minutes more with Lamb-chop and then moved onto her fuzzy pink mouse that was lying close.
She grabbed her mouse with her front paws and rolled over while sniffing it. It is a catnip mouse so it makes her feel a little silly. When she rolled back to the other side, she was startled. Dukee was sitting there watching her. Because Mom was in the room, Mia couldn’t say anything to Dukee so she rolled back in the other direction and slowly got up.
Mia casually walked around the sofa and snuck up behind Dukee. He already figured that she would do something like that, so he turned around quickly. Mia ran down the hall and Dukee followed her. She ran through the family room, around the chaise lounge, and through the kitchen. Dukee was right behind her all the way.
Mia stopped by the front door, so Dukee stopped as well. She hopped onto the bottom shelf part of the side table by the front door and sofa and went over to her food dish. By this time Auntie entered the room and sat down on the sofa. Dukee jumped up on top of the side table, sat at the end, and gazed out the front window. All in all, it was a fun day for everyone.
