Dukee and Mia enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in the front yard for awhile. But then Dukee decided to get up and hopped down onto the floor.
“Where are you going?” Mia asked.
“I’m going to get something to eat… Or maybe Auntie will be up and give me my breakfast.” Dukee said as he walked toward the hall.
“That’s a good idea, Mom should be awake now.” Mia hopped down.
Dukee walked into the his bedroom and saw Auntie move a little. He hopped up onto the bed and meowed. Auntie rolled over and acknowledged him. So she got up and gave him his freeze-dried chicken. Dukee gobbled it down and walked out into the family room.
A few minutes went by and Mia trotted past Dukee, with Mom following behind. Mom was late at getting Mia her breakfast but Mia let it slide this time. Dukee walked over to the sliding porch door and meowed. About a minute passed and Dukee meowed again. Auntie came out of her room and walked over to Dukee and opened the door. Dukee stepped out, and ran over to the corner of the porch and looked up.
“I see you lizard.” Dukee said.
“One of these days I will capture you.” Dukee put his front feet up on the ledge by the screen.
“You will be my play toy someday.” Dukee whispered.
He got down and because it felt so nice outside he decided to hop onto the chair and take a nap.
Meanwhile, Mia had her breakfast and is full of energy. She jumped up onto the side of Mom’s chair and bounced back down to the floor. With her furry feet trying to get a grip on the wood floor, she took off like lightening. Mia ran to her bedroom, turned around and ran back out into the front living room. Mom said something to her but she took off again down the hall.
This time Mia trotted out of her bedroom with her favorite toy, Lamb-chop. She has very soft high pitched meows that come out of her mouth when she plays with Lamb-chop. That makes her even more adorable when you hear her. Mia put her toy down by Mom’s chair and hopped into a box that was sitting near by. She pawed at the flap a couple times and then crawled underneath it. After all that running around, Mia decided to lay down in the box for awhile.
