That evening, Mom and Auntie were in the front living room watching a movie when Dukee ran in. Mia was hot on his tail behind him. Dukee quickly jumped up onto the side table and Mia bounced off the arm of the sofa where Auntie was sitting and startled her. Dukee hopped back down and ran back into the family room, and Mia quickly followed.
Dukee jumped up onto the chaise lounge chair and stopped to catch his breath. Mia stopped in front of the other sofa to catch her breath.
“Did you see that? I scared Auntie,” Mia giggled.
“Yeah I did, you made her jump,” Dukee snickered and laid down.
“We sure know how to get our exercise,” Mia rested a minute.
“Yep we sure do,” Dukee said.
“I’m hungry now… I’m going to get something to eat,” Mia said as she walked toward the kitchen.
Dukee laid there on the lounge chair resting, while Mia walked through the kitchen and into the front living room. We are not sure why she likes to go through the kitchen when she has a straight shot to the front living room but she does it a lot.
Mia walked up to the table where her food was and saw some kernels laying there. She stood up on her back legs, with her front paws resting on top of the table, and with one of her paws she batted a couple pieces down onto the floor. This was a new game that she taught Mom how to play. Each time that she would bat a piece or more to the floor, her hunting instincts kicked in. Sometimes she would have to search for where the pieces went after she hit them off the table. Mia played her new game a few more times, eating the food as she found it.
When she was done eating, she hopped up onto the arm of the chair by Mom, and allowed her to pet her a couple of times. Mia likes to let Mom know that she is appreciated. She hopped down off the chair, arched her back with a stretch and laid down. It was an eventful day that she enjoyed, and it’s time for her to rest.
