Dukee watched out the window, it was the neighbor's big German Shepard. He has heard that dog bark before, and it sure has a deep voice. It walked around the yard until it was called inside by its dad. I’m sure happy that, that big dog doesn’t live here, Dukee thought.
He continued to look out the window when he saw a lizard creep around the corner of the window. Dukee reached up to try and get it, but of course, couldn’t since the screen was there. The lizard sat there and looked at Dukee as if it were thinking, you can’t get me. Dukee reached one more time and touched the screen. The lizard then went back around the corner so Dukee couldn’t see it.
In the front living room, Mia stepped out of her camper and stretched her back leg out. She walked over to Mom sitting in her chair and hopped up by her feet. Mia rubbed her head on Mom’s foot and stared at her. Mom peeked around her laptop and saw Mia, so she knew that it was her cue to close it. Mia hopped up on top of the laptop and laid down.
Dukee hopped down from the stool and walked down the hall and into the front living room. He looked towards Mom and saw Mia. He jumped up onto the side table, walked to the end, and sat down.
Mia jumped down from Mom's laptop and ran and jumped up onto the kitty tower. She climbed into the small tunnel, looked at Dukee, and then looked outside. The two of them just quietly looked out the window and watched for any critters that might appear.
