Dukee sat on the sofa table and glanced around the room. First at Mia, and then Auntie and Mom. Mia finished nibbling some of her food when another large truck drove down the street. Dukee watched as it pulled up in front of the house. The light shadow of the truck flashed up onto the wall for a second and caught Mia’s attention.
Mia ran to the kitty tower and jumped up into the tube of it and peered out the window. The man in that truck got out and talked to the other man, as they looked at the wood trusses in the ditch. Mia likes to watch trucks and people as long as they don’t come to the door.
Auntie and Mom also stood closer to the window and watched as the one man got back into his truck. He pulled his truck right up next to the other and got back out. Mia looked back at Mom and then back to the truck as if she said, Mom are you seeing this?
The man lowered something at the base of his truck and then climbed back in. The long arm thing that is attached to the truck started to move and extend. Mia and Dukee watched every move that was going on outside. After the arm thing extended, the other man attached the cable that came down to the wood trusses.
Carefully the arm thing picked up the trusses and very slowly moved them back onto the first truck (the semi). The one-man helped to guide the trusses and make sure that they stayed on the semi. Mia again looked back at Mom, so this time Mom patted her on the head. That satisfied her and she looked back out the window.
The one-man got back out of his truck and started to talk to the other man again. They seemed to laugh a little as the one man walked back to his truck. Since the other man unhooked the cable from the trusses, the other was able to wind it back up and move the arm thing back into its place.
So once again the one man got out of his truck and put up the thing that was at the base of his truck. He said something else to the other man and climbed back in. He carefully pulled away in his truck and drove up the street. The man with the trusses was able to leave and make his delivery to one of the properties in the neighborhood.
When the trucks were gone, Mia hopped down and walked over to her paper cave. Dukee saw her and hopped down as well. He trotted up to the other end of Mia’s paper cave and peeked through.
It was a staring contest for a few minutes until Mia darted inside of it. This startled Dukee so he turned quickly and trotted out of the living room.
