While Princess Mia and Dukee watched the squirrels in the backyard, they heard a noise at the front door.
“What was that?” Mia turned around fast.
“Sounded like the front door.” Dukee turned and stretched his neck to peek.
“I can’t see anyone.” Dukee crept into the kitchen.
Just then, Dukee saw a man with something in his hands and ran to his bedroom. Mia had already scurried to her bedroom and then back out. All of a sudden, Dukee ran back out of his room and nearly bumped into Mia sitting by the entertainment center in the family room.
“That man just walked by my window.” Dukee panted.
“I know who that is.” Mia said as she looked around.
“Who is it?” Dukee asked.
“That’s the man that carries that long stick thing and hits the house with it.” Mia explained.
“Why does he do that?” Dukee asked.
“I don’t know but he’s only here for a few minutes each time.” Mia looked toward the sliding porch door.
“Well, what do we do?” Dukee crouched down.
“We just wait.” Mia said.
The two of them sat still and looked towards the sliding door and waited for that man to walk by.
“Okay, there he goes but he will be back in a minute with something else in his hand.” Mia laid down.
The man walking around the house was actually the bug guy. He starts out with a long brush and brushes down any spider webs and such. Then he goes around again with a canister of bug spray. So after the man went back to the front of the house the second time, Mia knew that he was done. She carefully walked down the hall to the front living room. She stretched her neck out to peek through the narrow windows by the door and saw the man pull away in his van.
“He’s gone.” Mia called out.
“Well, that was enough excitement for me.” Dukee walked over to the kitty tower.
Dukee climbed up onto the top of the tower and Mia hopped up onto the bottom part of it. The two of them just laid there and looked out the front window.
