“Wow, one hundred and thirty-two chapters? That’s a lot of stories about us,” Mia looked at Dukee.
“Yes, that’s what Auntie said. That’s why it’s good that we find ways to give her stuff to write about,” Dukee itched his side with his back leg.
“Well, I think I did that this morning,” Mia said.
“Why, what did you do?” Dukee looked at Mia.
“Well, you know that snow scene that my Mom set up over there in the corner?” Mia glanced around the leather sofa.
“You mean that one with all the deer?” Dukee looked.
“Yes… I accidentally knocked all the deer and the snowy tree over,” Mia hung her head down.
“Well it looks fine now,” Dukee looked back at Mia.
“That’s because Mom already fixed it. I was in the room when Mom and Auntie noticed it. Mom wasn’t too happy about it either,” Mia laid down.
“Well, how did you knock it all over?” Dukee asked.
“Well, that white cottony material is fascinating to me. I looked up at the table, and instead of just touching the corner that hangs below the table, I jumped up onto my camper and then up onto the table with the material. And then, before I realized it, everything had fallen over. So, I jumped back down and ran out of the room,” Mia licked her front paw.
“Did your Mom yell at you?” Dukee asked.
“No, not really. But she did say my name and called me a turkey,” Mia looked at Dukee.
Dukee giggled, “well, you’re lucky that you didn’t get caught doing it. Then you might have gotten really yelled at for it.”
“Yes, that’s true,” Mia licked her other front paw. “I guess that’s the idea of it, is to not get caught.”
“Yep,” Dukee said as he stood up.
Dukee walked past Mia and jumped up onto the side table by the front door. He walked down to the other end, sat down, and looked out the window. Mia got up and walked around the end of the leather sofa. Then, she trotted over to the kitty tower and jumped all the way up to the top. It was time to watch the squirrels and maybe a few birds when they fly down.
“I guess I’d better stay out of trouble at least for a little while,” Mia looked at Dukee.
“Yes, I think that you should,” Dukee said.
