As Mia walked away, Dukee wiggled his behind and ran after her. He was hoping to get her to run and play, which worked this time. Mia jumped up onto the chaise lounge chair, trotted across the side table, and hopped onto another chair. Dukee ran around the chaise, through the cardboard barn, and stopped on the other side.
“I out-smarted you orange boy.” Mia giggled.
“No you didn’t, I knew that you would do that. You are predictable.” Dukee laid down.
“I’ll show you predictable.” Mia jumped off the chair right over Dukee and ran to the front living room.
“Okay, that was a surprise.” Dukee sat up quickly.
Mia peeked around the corner of the wall in the front living room to see if Dukee was coming. Dukee walked towards the hall but decided to continue straight and go to his bedroom. He did however look down the hall as he was going to his room and saw Mia waiting.
Because Dukee didn’t follow her, Mia turned around and hopped up on the arm of Mom’s chair. Mom gave Mia a couple of gentle pets and then Mia hopped down. She went over to her food table, hopped up, and had a few nibbles of food. She then drank some water and walked over to her kitty tower. In the tunnel, she hopped, looked outside, and waited for any moving critter.
Mia didn’t have to wait long when she saw a lizard hop onto the window screen. A couple of soft noises came out of her mouth as she slowly backed out of the tunnel. Mia carefully stepped onto her food table, walked around the kitty tower, and over to the window sill. The lizard was still there on the screen as Mia crouched down and crept towards it.
Another soft noise came out of her mouth, as she darted at the lizard. She of course hit the window and the lizard scurried away. Another one got away, Mia thought. She looked at Mom and then laid down on the blanket by the window. Only to watch for more.
