“I’m going to go and take a nap,” Dukee turned and hopped down off the side table.
Mia sat in her tunnel for a minute but then decided to hop down and play with the plastic ring that was sitting on the floor. Mia’s not even two years old yet, not for a couple of months. So she loves to play with many different things and bottle rings are one of them. She tapped it a couple of times, as if she was preparing it for a big hit, but then swatted it under her paper cave.
She dug it out from under there, picked it up in her mouth, and walked with it to the main walkway. The walkway from the front door goes into the hallway, and to the family room. The space is a little more open for her to bat it around. She will play with that sometimes for about 30 minutes. She tapped it a couple of times, and then Mom walked into the room.
Mom sat down in her recliner and Mia rubbed against her leg. Mom asked her if she wanted to play, and grabbed a really long heavy-duty zip strip that Mia liked to play with. Mia rolled around on her back and batted at it while Mom held it. The zip strip has a natural bounce to it when it’s held on one end, so Mom doesn’t have to move it much at all. Mia looks so cute when she plays with it.
She played with Mom for a few minutes, then sprang to her feet, and ran down the hall. Within a minute or so, she trotted back to Mom with her Lamb-chop toy in her mouth. She set Lamb-chop down right by Mom's feet as if to say thank you for playing with me.
Mom told her, thank you for the present. Mia looked at her and then walked over to her food table. She hopped up, took a few nibbles, and drank some water to wash it down. She was happy and a little sleepy now, so she scooted into her paper cave and laid down with a big yawn.
