Meet Dukee, he is a traditional orange tabby cat who loves to have fun. He is eight years old, but that doesn’t stop him from tearing around the house and getting into trouble. Dukee lives with Auntie and she takes really good care of him. She makes sure that he always has food and water, and comfy places to sleep. She even takes the time out of her busy schedule to play with Dukee.
Dukee and Auntie live in a nice place, but for some reason, it’s time to move out. When Auntie started to go through her stuff and put it in boxes, Dukee began to wonder. He climbed into a box that had some towels in it and laid down. Dukee figured that if he was in the way Auntie had to stop what she was doing. Well, that didn’t work, Auntie just moved onto a different box. This packing went on for a couple of months, and Dukee quietly accepted that something was going to happen. He knew though that Auntie would always be with him.
The day had come when almost all of Auntie’s things were packed into two different vehicles. Dukee noticed that his pet carrier was up on the table, and to him, that could only mean one thing, the dreaded vet. Dukee didn’t run or hide this time because he was so curious as to what all this activity meant. A few minutes later Auntie picked Dukee up and put him inside his carrier and took him out to her van. Even though there was one of Dukee’s favorite toys in the carrier, he was still nervous.
Dukee’s pet carrier was strapped in on the passenger front seat. That way Dukee could see Auntie, and Auntie could reassure and talk to Dukee while they were on the road. Auntie told Dukee that it was going to be a four-hour trip, but that he will be alright. Dukee wasn’t sure, but he trusted Auntie and laid down. The radio in the van didn’t work so Auntie would sometimes sing to Dukee if she wasn’t already talking to him. She tried to make the trip as fun as possible for Dukee.
The ride seemed long, but they finally arrived at the new place to live. It was a house instead of an apartment building, so this would be a little different for Dukee. Auntie took Dukee into the house but left him in the carrier until the vehicles were unpacked. After Auntie and Dukee’s bed was set up in their room, Auntie took Dukee in there and let him out. She showed him where his toilet was, and then gave him some food and water.
Dukee decided to look around, and first saw the lady (Mom) who came over to visit them a lot. Then he looked up and was amazed as to how tall the ceiling was compared to the other place. He noticed some high places on top of a few walls that he knew that he would get to in the near future. Dukee saw that Auntie was happy talking with the other lady, so he knew that he would be happy there too.
