The Wolf
Two hundred word short story
It was a clear cool morning and even though Gwen heard the birds chirping outside, she had a strange feeling. She got up and out of her bed and walked over to the window. When Gwen peeked through the sheer curtain, she saw a spirit-like figure of a wolf. She watched it as it walked and looked around her back yard. Am I really seeing this, she thought. Gwen went over to her nightstand and got her cellphone. She thought that maybe she could snap a picture of it. But, when she got back to the window, it was gone.
Gwen quickly put on some clothes and grabbed her sweater. She hurried to her front door and peeked out the window. Carefully she opened the door and looked outside. Gwen caught another glimpse of it before it disappeared again. She ran out into her front yard and saw it one more time as it walked down the street. Just before it left again, Gwen remembered that the wolf is her spirit animal. It must have known that I have been struggling a lot lately, Gwen thought. Her body suddenly felt lighter and she knew what she had to do.
The End
This short story is for all the people who were born in the last half of February. It is said that the spirit of the wolf might be visible to those who may need some guidance or reassurance during a tough time. The wolf symbolizes powerful intuition, deep intelligence, loyalty, and independence. When Gwen remembered her strengths, she knew that her struggle at the time would soon come to an end. She believed in herself once again.
