Detective Williams handed over the hand towels for examination and dropped off the rest of the boxes. He told officer Joe Dunken that he was going to see if Mike Cooper was home, and question him.
“Okay… How did it go with congressman Reynold’s?” Dunken asked.
“Well, he’s a little arrogant, but he did seem genuine about his ex-wife’s death. I’m satisfied with the answers he gave me for now,” Williams told him.
“Yes, I met the man once and also got a sense of arrogance from him. Oh, and I found out that Gary Page quit working for Landscaper’s-R-Us a year ago because Cooper and a few of the other guys there picked on him,” Dunken said.
“They picked on him?”
“Yes, I guess Gary Page was looked at as more of a nerdy and shy kind of man, so the other guys would give him a hard time. Here’s his address,” Dunken handed Williams the piece of paper.
“Okay, thank you, Joe, I’ll call you later," Williams left the police station.
As he got into his car and looked at the paper that Dunken gave him, he noticed the address of Gary Page. Hmm, interesting, Williams thought. He put the paper down on the passenger seat and headed out of town about three miles to Baker Road. With the information about Mike Cooper being somewhat of a bully, Williams knew that he better be cautious when entering his property. Cooper inherited his father’s old farm a couple of years ago, and one only knows what he might have on that property.
Williams turned onto Baker Road and looked for Cooper’s address. When he saw the correct number on the mailbox, he slowly pulled into the driveway. The first thing that Williams noticed was a red Chevy pickup truck parked up near the two-story house. He also observed that the front yard was a bit overgrown and that the house needed a new paint job. As he pulled up behind the pickup truck, Mike stepped out onto the front porch. Detective Williams got out of his car, introduced himself, and asked Mike if he could talk to him for a few minutes.
