After Duncan enjoyed the salty taste of Charley’s blood, he went for a stroll in the garden. In the house, Sandra hid under the bed after she heard Brandi’s screams. John and Eileen went out to the back patio to wait for their meal while Harold went to go get her. Virginia sat back in her chair with another glass of champagne and took pleasure in all that went on at this party. Another successful party, she thought.
When Harold unlocked and opened the bedroom door, Sandra wasn’t sure what was happening and was hesitant to come out.
“Hello? You can come out now,” Harold looked into the room.
Because Sandra was hiding, Harold carefully walked inside and glanced around. He walked over to where he thought was the obvious hiding spot, the armoire.
“You can go home now,” Harold grinned and slowly opened the armoire doors.
Sandra quietly crawled out from under the bed and jumped to her feet. She then ran and pushed Harold into the armoire. Harold hit his head and fell to the floor. This gave Sandra enough time to run out of the bedroom and out the front door. Since Virginia had turned the volume up on the record player, she didn’t hear the commotion in the bedroom. It wasn’t until Eileen walked back into the house from the back patio and asked Virginia where their dinner was.
“Harold, John and Eileen are waiting,” Virginia yelled.
Virginia got up to see where Harold and Sandra were and found Harold just getting up and rubbing his head.
“Where is she?” Virginia looked at Harold.
“I don’t know… She pushed me into the armoire and I hit my head on that box in there,” Harold said.
Virginia hit Harold in the arm and told him to go find her. So, Harold hurried to the front door because he figured that was where Sandra would have went. Virginia walked back into the parlor and tried to reassure Eileen that their prize dinner will show up soon.
When Harold ran out the front door, he looked toward the driveway. He didn’t see Sandra in the distance but assumed that she would run toward the highway. He dug his car keys out of his pocket and hopped into his car.
“I’ll get her,” Harold started the car and backed up.
Sandra was hiding in some bushes along the left side of the house when she saw Harold drive down the driveway. Sandra tried to dial 911 on her cellphone but couldn’t get a signal. So, she peeked out of the bushes and then quietly walked to the front corner of the house. When she peeked around and looked at the front porch, she didn’t see anyone. Quietly, Sandra hurried across the front yard and over to the barn. She carefully slid the barn door open just wide enough for her to slip inside.
With her cellphone flashlight, Sandra looked around inside of the dark barn. She knew that she needed to survive the rest of the night and hopefully seek help in the morning. But she also wondered if Lou or anyone else was still alive. Sandra found a semi-empty corner near the back of the barn and sat down on a stack of paver bricks. She tried 911 again but there was still no signal.
John and Eileen were feeling impatient and went back into the house. Virginia was in the kitchen nibbling on some of the roasted pig that she just carved.
“Virginia, where is our prize?” John called out.
“Virginia?” Eileen called out while she walked toward the stairs.
Virginia licked her fingers and swiftly wiped her mouth. She hurried out of the kitchen and then casually walked down the hall toward Eileen and John.
“I am so sorry for the delay my dears John and Eileen. It seems as if your prize has gotten away. I sent Harold to look for her but I guess that I will have to go find her for you,” Virginia grinned.
“Well, this does remind me of a good fox hunt back in the day. Come Eileen, we can sniff her out,” John took his wife’s hand.
“Well, you heard him Virginia, he’s ready to bring back the good old days,” Eileen smiled.
Virginia felt relieved and watched John and Eileen as they walked out the front door. Once John and Eileen stepped off the front porch, they turned into two hairy wolf-like creatures. John sniffed the air and ran down the driveway while Eileen tracked a scent to the bushes. She didn’t find anything yet but the hunt was on.
Virginia closed the front door and headed back to the kitchen. She poured herself another glass of champagne and nibbled on a few more pieces of pork.
“I hope that they find that girl, otherwise I might be seen as a joke in their community,” Virginia took a sip from her glass.
Back outside, John found what was left of Brandi under a tall oak tree. Ron and Andrea had their fill of her and left. John sniffed Brandi’s bloody ribcage but then moved his focus back to the hunt.

Feel free to tell me how I’m doing with this story in the comments below.
Wolf like creature, ok, with the description of flight to Brandi's killing I was thinking more on possible gargoyle type creatures. It's still a great thriller !
