Jonathan closed the front door and walked back into the kitchen. He put the plastic covering back on the pie and put it in the refrigerator. Jonathan walked back into his office and sat down at his desk. He wanted to get his work finished by noon so that he would have the rest of the day free.

He walked to the back door and looked out the window. There he saw the cat on the porch drinking some water. Jonathan opened up the door and walked out onto the porch.
“Hi, Knight, how are you doing?” Jonathan crouched down and pet him.
Knight purred and rubbed on Jonathan’s knee while he was being petted. Jonathan noticed that Knight needed some more water in his bowl, and stood up.

“Look out buddy, I’m coming out,” Jonathan slowly pushed the screen door open.
Knight backed up slowly as Jonathan walked out onto the porch with the water and cup of dry food. Jonathan poured the food into Knight’s bowl and then opened up the bottle of water and poured some into the other bowl. I guess I’ll leave this bottle right here, he set it down by the bowl. Jonathan stood up and watched as Knight gobbled down some of the fresher food. Now it’s time for my lunch, he thought.
