When Jonathan and Joe finished eating, Jonathan put their plates and silverware into the sink.
“Do you want another beer?” Jonathan asked.
“Sure,” Joe got up from the table.
Jonathan grabbed two more beers from the refrigerator and handed one to Joe. The two of them went outside so that Jonathan could check on the grill, and so Joe can get the other beer from his truck.
“Here’s the padlock that you wanted,” Joe handed it to Jonathan.
“Oh, thank you. That reminds me that I need to put that shovel away,” Jonathan walked toward the barn.
Joe put the twelve-pack of Michelob on the porch and followed him as Jonathan picked up the shovel and slid the barn door open. Jonathan walked inside to put the shovel by the rakes. Joe walked in and looked around.
“What’s with the chains?” Joe looked up.
“I don’t know, they were here when I moved in. This set already fell from the rafters the other night,” Jonathan pointed.
“These are like wood hauling chains… I wonder why someone would have had these here?” Joe said.
“I don’t know. I thought it was strange too,” Jonathan said.
Just then, the set hanging from the rafters dropped to the ground and Joe jumped back.
“Whoa, that was close,” Joe looked at them.
“Are you okay?” Jonathan asked.
“Yeah, it startled me is all… It’s a good thing that I wasn’t standing underneath them,” Joe said.
