It was almost 7:30 am when Jonathan rolled over and saw the sun shining through his bedroom window. He flipped the sheet off of him and sat up. Boy, I slept really well, he thought. Jonathan stood up and stretched his arms up and out before walking down the hall to the bathroom. While he was combing his hair, he saw out the bathroom window, someone driving a tractor down the road. These farmers sure are active early in the morning, he thought.
Jonathan walked back into his bedroom and took out of his dresser, a Metallica t-shirt and his brown khaki shorts. He put those on and went downstairs. He walked into the kitchen and carried the coffee pot over to the sink. Jonathan filled the coffee pot full of water and poured it into the coffee maker. He set up the coffee maker the rest of the way and then turned it on. He walked over to the back door and peeked out of the window. The cat wasn’t on the porch or the chairs. He must be out roaming, Jonathan thought.
Under the sink, Jonathan pulled out a container of sanitizing wipes. He wiped down the counters, the table, the refrigerator, the faucet, and the sink. While waiting for the coffee to get done, he also pulled out the broom and dustpan. Jonathan swept the kitchen floor from the back door, all the way to the entrance of the living room. I might as well keep going, he thought as he entered the living room. When Jonathan was done sweeping, he emptied the dustpan and then put them both back in the closet.
Jonathan grabbed his coffee cup and poured the freshly brewed coffee into it. He carried his cup into his office, took a sip, and then set it down on his desk. He sat down at his desk and turned on his laptop. Jonathan was going to check his emails and do a little work. As he was scrolling through his emails, he ran across one that caught his eye. It was from the search website that he was on a week ago. He opened it up and read that the first owner of his house had another residence in Wisconsin.
