In the morning Jonathan woke up, looked around, and realized that he was in his new bed. He sat up, stretched his arms, and tossed the top sheet aside. Because he just moved in, the walls were bare yet and nothing drew his eye except for the window. He got up, stretched his back, and walked over to the window.

“Wow, it looked like it rained pretty hard… I didn’t hear a thing,” Jonathan looked at the ground outside of his window.

He walked down the hall and into the other bedroom. He picked out a pair of cargo shorts, his Hanes, and a Led Zepplin t-shirt and carried them to the bathroom. He was going to start his day out clean even though he might get sweaty again. While he was in the shower he thought he heard someone at the front door. He finished up, grabbed a towel, and peeked out the window. That bathroom that he was in faced the front of the house.

He didn’t see anyone in the driveway, but he dried off and got dressed. He looked around the bathroom and noticed that it could use a paint job. The light blue walls were scuffed up like they hadn’t been painted since the house was built. Well, if I have any paint left from the kitchen, I’ll use that, he thought. Jonathan quickly shaved, combed his hair, and headed downstairs.

He opened up the front door to see if anyone was there and found a piece of paper. It was left by a tree trimming service. He closed the door and walked into the kitchen. First things first, coffee, he thought. He got his coffee pot brewing, opened up the two windows in the kitchen, and wiped out his coffee cup.

Jonathan walked over to the thermostat and turned it on to AC. He waited a few minutes to see what would happen. The realtor only told him that it wasn’t working and that could mean anything. After a couple of minutes, he heard the unit kick on. He let it run and walked over to one of the vents. He reached up but didn’t feel any cool air. I wonder if it only needs Freon, he thought.

He let it run while he enjoyed his cup of coffee and noticed that it wasn’t cooling. On the table, he put his cup down and then walked out the back door. The AC unit sat just around the back corner to the side of the house. He walked over and listened to it and watched it. It seems to run good, it must only need some Freon, he thought. In the house, he went and shut the AC off.
