When Jonathan got done with his shower, he put on his camouflage cargo shorts and an AC DC t-shirt. He combed his hair, and then trotted down the steps and into the living room. His wallet was on the end table by his chair so he picked that up and put it in his back pocket. He grabbed his cell phone and car keys from the kitchen table and walked to the back door. He touched the door and it seemed dry, so he locked it and closed it.
He walked to his car and looked around for the cat but didn’t see it anywhere. I wonder if I should pick up a small bag of cat food, he thought. Jonathan climbed into his car and headed toward town. He stopped at a gas station just outside of town and filled up his tank. While he drove into town he looked around to see if there were any other furniture stores. He saw Babcock’s but didn’t want to go there.
“Looks like Big Lots it is,” he drove down the road.
Jonathan drove into the shopping center parking lot and pulled into a parking spot near Big Lots. Looks pretty busy today, he thought. Carefully he opened his car door and got out. When he walked into the store, he glanced over at the furniture section but didn’t see Joe. Jonathan walked to the back of the store and saw some patio furniture. He looked around hoping that something would pique his interest, but nothing did.
An older woman was shopping as well and noticed Jonathan looking at the patio furniture.
“If I may suggest something?” She said.
“Oh, hello… Um, sure?”
“My son makes beautiful wood patio furniture and sells them for a reasonable price,” she said.
“Oh, does he have his own store?” Jonathan asked.
“No, but here’s his address,” the lady handed him a business card.
“Well, thank you. I’m not too impressed with this furniture here,” he smiled.
