When the police arrived, Jonathan and Joe met them in the driveway. Jonathan told the police officers what he found down under the barn as well as the graves in the woods. He told them that the grave he dug up was just a dog but wasn’t sure of the other two. The four of them walked into the barn and the police officers looked down in the hole. The one police officer then climbed down the ladder with a flashlight and looked around.
“Yeah Ben, you’re going to want to come down here and look at this,” officer Randy called out.
Officer Ben climbed down into the hole to take a look and decided that they better call the crime scene investigator. He lived an hour away so it was going to be a long night.
By this time the sun was starting to go down and it was starting to get dark. Jonathan went into the house and turned on the light post that lit up the whole backyard. He walked back out and started telling the officers the different stories that he has heard about the previous owner. The officer’s remembered who lived there last but they were more concerned about the first owners. They think that that body has been there for more than three years. They won’t know for sure until all examinations are done though.
“Wow, that long?” Looks like I’m going to have to find out more about the first owner,” Jonathan said.
Nothing more could be done until the crime team gets there so Jonathan offered the officers some coffee. They gladly accepted so Joe and Jonathan went into the house.
