“Christmas was fun here all by ourselves but I did miss my mom,” Dukee said to Mia.
“Yes, I missed my mom too but I’m happy that they got to see the rest of the family,” Mia looked up at Dukee on the side table.
“So, what do you want to do for New Years?” Dukee asked her.
“I don’t know, doesn’t Auntie have to work?” Mia asked.
“Yes, that’s why I asked. She has to work until the day after New Years,” Dukee said and then itched his right ear.
“What is New Years anyways?” Mia asked and then laid down in the cube part of the kitty tower.
“New Year is just that, the start of a new year. Humans celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next year. I guess it’s a way to celebrate life and their achievements,” Dukee said.
“Oh, that makes sense. So, it’s sort of a reward for making it through another year,” Mia said and then yawned.
“Yes, and because of that, some people go to parties,” Dukee said.
“My mom doesn’t go to parties, she watches people on TV celebrate,” Mia said.
“Yes, I remember last year your mom and my mom watched some party on TV,” Dukee said.
“Oh yeah. Well, if Auntie has to work the next day this year does that mean she won’t be staying up with my mom?” Mia asked.
“I don’t know, she hasn’t said anything about it,” Dukee said and yawned.
Mia stretched out her front legs and then perked up, “did you see the new toys I got for Christmas?”
“Yes, and I got the same things,” Dukee said and then laid down.
“Oh, but you know what?” Mia asked.
“What?” Dukee looked at Mia.
“I bet you didn’t get some yummy treats like I did,” Mia said.
“I did get some different treats but I don’t like them. My mom said she ordered me some that I do like,” Dukee said and then laid his head down.
“Oh, I see,” Mia yawned and then laid her head down.
Mia and Dukee had so much fun the last few days that both of them are pretty tired. It looks like it’s nap time for them right now so join us next time for more of: The Day With Dukee And Mia. You never know what these two will be doing or saying.
