The Day With Dukee And Mia
Mom quietly got up and went to the other room while Mia slept soundly in her tunnel. Dukee walked into the front living room and looked up at Mia sleeping on the kitty tower.
Dukee snickered and whispered, “are you sleeping?
Mia didn’t say or move until Dukee jumped up onto the side table.
“What, what’s going on?” Mia opened her eyes and looked at Dukee.
Dukee sat down on the table and looked at Mia, “you fell asleep there, are you all right?”
Mia yawned and said, “yes, I’m okay, I’m just tired I guess. That storm we had earlier kept me awake.”
Mia then glanced back through the tunnel to see if her Mom was still in her chair.
“Oh, I didn’t have any trouble napping,” Dukee said.
Mia backed up out of the tunnel, “well you know how the thunder and stuff makes me nervous.”
“Oh yeah, I’m sorry,” Dukee said while he watched Mia climb down to the base of the cube.
Mia’s Mom then walked back into the living room and said, “oh you woke up huh?”
Mia hopped down and walked over to her Mom. Her Mom bent over and caressed Mia’s side and then gave her neck some gentle scratching. Mia licked her Mom’s hand as if to say thank you for the love Mom. When Mom sat back down in her chair, Mia looked up at Dukee and then jumped up onto the coffee table. Dukee watched Mia as she walked onto the window sill and sat down. It was time for some lizard and frog watching. Mia softly chattered and Dukee quickly looked for what Mia was chattering at.
“What do you see?” Dukee whispered.
“Lizard,” Mia whispered back.
Dukee glanced around and finally saw the lizard peak it’s head up above the ledge outside of the window. Dukee meowed and squeaked while he slapped his tail down on the table. Mia quickly looked at Dukee but then back to the lizard. I guess that little nap in the tunnel that Mia had helped her refocus for lizard patrol.
If you take a nap do you notice that you can focus better or does it make your focus worse? For me, It depends on how long of a nap I take. Sometimes if the nap is too long then I’m more tired. Maybe that’s why cat naps work better because they seem shorter. What do you think?
There might not be a story written this Sunday because of a busy weekend so, Mia and Dukee want to wish you a wonderful day and weekend. But please join me again for more of: The Day With Dukee And Mia.
