Mia was in the front living room around five this morning. She heard some sort of sound right outside of the window, so he jumped up onto the kitty tower. She then quietly crept closer to the window and saw someone she thought she recognized. Mia tapped on the window with her paw and he quickly turned and looked.
“Hey, how are you?” Rafael asked and moved closer to the window.
For those of you who don’t know, Rafael is a beautiful grey cat that seems to live in the neighborhood and prowls around at night.
“Hi. I’m doing good. I haven’t seen you in a long time,” Mia said.
Now, Dukee was sleeping in the chaise lounge chair in the family room and woke up to Mia’s talking. He got up, hopped down, and walked down the hallway.
Rafael had just explained to Mia that he was on vacation with his humans.
“Were you able to roam while you were there or were you stuck inside?” Mia asked Rafael.
Dukee walked up to the side table and jumped up, “who are you talking too?”
“Oh my, you startled me Dukee,” Mia looked at him, “look, It’s Rafael.”
Dukee hopped down onto Mia’s litter box cabinet and saw Rafael standing on his back legs and leaning up against the house.
“Hey buddy, how’s it going?” Rafael asked.
“Good. I haven’t seen you in a long time,” Dukee said.
“Yeah, I’ve been busy but I’ve been around,” Rafael said.
“Tell him where you went recently,” Mia said.
“Oh, I went on vacation with my humans to some big city. There were tall buildings everywhere and a lot of cars and humans.” Rafael explained.
“Do you think you’ll go there again?” Dukee asked.
“I don’t know, it felt busy all the time, like everyone was always in a hurry,” Rafael said.
“Yeah, I don’t think that I would like that,” Mia said.
“Me neither,” Dukee said.
“Yeah, I know that I wouldn’t want to live there. It’s much more relaxing here,” Rafael said.
“So, were you stuck inside?” Mia asked.
“Yes, for the most part. Except when my humans took me in the stroller thingy. Otherwise I stayed inside. I don’t think that I would have wanted to go out on my own there even if they did let me. It seemed scary and dangerous,” Rafael said.
“I guess being free to roam isn’t always as glamorous as it looks,” Mia said.
“No, not really. There’s always the chance that someone or something will harm you,” Rafael said.
“Well, it was nice to see you again Rafael,” Mia said.
“It was good to see you both too. I must get going home now. You both take care now and enjoy your humans,” Rafael got down and walked out of the flower bed.
It was still dark outside so Mia and Dukee couldn’t see Rafael once he left the front yard.
“He still looks good doesn’t he?” Mia said.
“Yeah… It seems like his humans take good care of him. He doesn’t sound as tough as he usually portrays himself though,” Dukee said.
“What do you mean?” Mia asked and then licked her right paw.
“Well, he always talks like he’s done many things on his own and has been faced with tough decisions,” Dukee explained.
“Oh, I see what you mean. Well, he does roam the neighborhood. That would be scary enough for me,” Mia said.
Dukee thought for a moment, “yeah, I guess you’re right. Well, I’m going to get something to eat. See you later,” Dukee said as he jumped down to the floor.
Mia turned around and walked over to her food bowl. A big city huh? Must be like what I see on the TV sometimes, she thought. Mia then crunched on a couple of food kernels and then headed to her bedroom. Dukee ate and few kernels of his food and then jumped up on the bed by his mom. He meowed, which woke her up and then he laid down right next to her after she pet him.
Until next week, Dukee and Mia want to wish safe days with whatever you do. Bye for now.
