The Day With Dukee And Mia

Silly Sunday

Dukee woke up and stretched his arms out and yawned at the same time. Oh what a restful sleep I got, he thought. He rolled over onto his back and stretched again. Auntie is off from work today so Dukee decided to sleep in with her. As Auntie got up out of bed, Dukee jumped up and wanted his breakfast. I could go for some fresh chicken but this stuff will do, Dukee thought as he jumped up onto the desk. Auntie crumbled some of the dehydrated chicken into his dish and then went into the bathroom.

“A little dry but it still tastes good,” Dukee sniffed around the dish for more.

When Dukee was done he hopped down and walked out and into the family room. He was ready to see what the morning was like outside so he walked over to the sliding glass door. Auntie then walked over to him and let him out onto the back screened porch.

“It feels pretty nice out here,” Dukee said while he looked out into the yard.

In the front living room, Mia was watching a lizard on the window screen. It was a larger lizard so it didn’t scurry away like the baby ones do when they see Mia. She crept up to the window and watched it as it did pushups.

“I don’t know what that means when they do that but it sure looks silly,” Mia said.

The lizard then scurried down to the bottom of the window and onto the ledge. Mia backed up and then quickly jumped up onto the platform of the kitty tower. She laid there and watched it while it looked around. I wonder what it’s looking for, Mia thought. Just then, Mia saw a small bug flying above the flowers in the flower bed.

“I bet it wants to eat that bug,” Mia said while she watched it.

When the bug flew close to the window, the lizard scurried back up the screen. Just before the lizard darted at the bug it must have seen the lizard and flew off.

“Better luck next time lizard,” Mia said.

Mia’s ears perked up when she heard someone walking down the hallway. As Auntie entered the living room Mia was relieved that it was only her. Mia started to be silly and rolled upside down. Auntie told her to be careful so that she doesn’t fall off of there. Mia just had to show off and be cute though.

Whatever you do today I hope that you find some joy in it. Sitting in a sad place all the time is not healthy so find something that makes you laugh. Trust me, you will feel better if you do. Until next time, Mia and Dukee wish for you to have a blessed week.
