After the noisy thunder and lightening storm that we had at two-thirty this morning, we all are tired and need some rest. But otherwise, Mia has been her silly and feisty self. She would sneak up behind Dukee when he walked into the front living room and chase him back into the other room. Dukee would make a sound that seemed like he would laugh as he jumped up onto the chaise lounge chair. He would look back, but Mia wouldn’t follow.
When Dukee lived with his adopted little brother, they would always chase each other around the house. I believe that Dukee misses that and wished that Mia would do it more often. But, each cat is different about how they like to play. Dukee would also walk into the kitchen and peek into the dining area to see where Mia was. Sometimes she would hear Dukee and sneak up behind him again. But other times, Dukee would feel Mia’s presence and quickly look for her.
But as you see from the photos above, today looks like a lazy day for all of us. Thankfully Auntie doesn’t have to go to work today so the lack of sleep will be tolerable. Of course Dukee and Mia can nap anytime, but a cat’s life is well understood. Plus, Mia gets a little more stressed out during storms than Duke does so she’s extra tired. It’s also possible that we might have more rain later too, but hopefully nothing serious.
When we did have our early storm, two tornado warnings were posted. That kept my sister and I both awake for awhile in our separate bedrooms. Thankfully, no touch downs near us. But, yesterday on the other side of Florida, they had a quick storm where Auntie R’s oldest daughter lives. A large part of a tree in her backyard fell barely missing the house. She was shocked when she got home from work but was thankful that no house damage happened.
Mia and Dukee want to know what you do when thunderstorms are in your area. Do you watch the weather and get prepared? Or do you hope for the best because storms are out of our control?
Please join us again next week for more of: The Day With Dukee And Mia.
When there are storms I watch the weather report and watch out my windows. This house we are in has survived hurricanes, but we still takes precautions.
