After Auntie left for work, Dukee walked to the front living room and looked out the window by the bench. He jumped up onto the bench just as Mia walked up behind him.
“Auntie sure does leave the house early lately,” Mia said.
Dukee looked behind him, “yes I know. She's working a lot. I hope that she doesn't continue to be gone as much as she has because I miss our cuddle time together.”
“Yes, I can understand that. I don't cuddle with Mom but I still like having her home with me,” Mia said and then walked over to the narrow window by the door.
“Yeah, why don't you cuddle with your Mom?” Dukee looked in Mia's direction.
“I don't know. I lay near her though,” Mia said.
“Well, at least you do that. Humans like our attention if you hadn't noticed,” Dukee said.
“Yes, you've told me that before,” Mia glanced over at Dukee.
When Dukee looked out the window, he saw a squirrel run toward the tree. Mia also noticed the squirrel and watched while another one ran after the first squirrel. Around and around the tree they ran, and then up the tree and onto different branches.
“Silly squirrels,” Dukee snickered.
“Do you think they are related?” Mia asked.
“I don't know but that's a good question,” Dukee said.
Mia and Dukee watched the squirrels for a few minutes before Mia heard her Mom in the other room. Dukee laid down on the bench while Mia went to check on her Mom. With Auntie working, she was told that Dukee is back and forth and in and out while waiting for her to come back home. He loves his Auntie and understands why she has to be gone more often lately.
We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. Until net time with, The Day With Dukee And Mia.
