“So, did you like that turkey that my mom made yesterday?” Dukee asked Mia as he stretched out on the floor.
“Do you mean that meat that my mom was eating?” Mia said.
“Didn’t you have any?” Dukee asked her.
“My mom gave me a couple of piece’s but I didn’t care for it. Did you like it?” Mia said and licked the bottom of her front paw.
“Yes, I liked it, but it does taste different then chicken. I could eat a whole chicken but I don’t think that I’d like to eat a whole turkey,” Dukee said.
“I don’t think that you could eat a whole chicken,” Mia said and then walked toward the front living room.
Dukee quickly got up and walked to the side table, “well, I didn’t say that I would eat it all at once.” But wait, how do you even know what a whole chicken looks like?”
“I don’t know, but if mom and auntie have enough to share with us each time they have some, then it must be big,” Mia said as she jumped up onto the kitty tower.
“That’s a good point,” Dukee said after he jumped up onto the side table.
Mia climbed up into the tunnel and looked out the window. Dukee hopped down onto Mia’s litter box cabinet and looked at Mia.
“I wonder what a chicken looks like? Do you think a turkey is as big as a chicken or bigger?” Dukee asked.
“Does it matter? We just eat the pieces that our mom’s give us,” Mia said.
“Well, you seem a little grumpy today,” Dukee said and looked out the window.
Mia looked at Dukee, “sorry… I had a restless night and I already spit up a fur ball.”
“Oh, I’m sorry about that. I guess I’m lucky that I don’t have fur balls that need to come out,” Dukee said.
“well, I didn’t mean to be grumpy with you,” Mia said and watched Dukee’s tail as it flicked up and down.
“That’s okay,” Dukee whispered as he lowered his ears and watched a squirrel creep closer to the flower bed.
“Oh, a squirrel,” Mia whispered and watched it as it stopped and dug a spot in the grass.
“Do you think they eat chicken or turkey?” Mia whispered.
“Nah, I don’t think so,” Dukee whispered and watched it.
Thanksgiving day was nice and relaxing for all of us here. Auntie put the traditional turkey in the oven and then we watched the Macy’s Day Parade. We had a nice turkey meal around 1 pm with mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, and vegetables. Auntie also baked a sweet potato especially for grandpa to enjoy. Mia and Dukee hope that you all had a nice Thanksgiving day too.
