“So what do you think of my mom’s Christmas decorations this year?” Mia said while she sat down on top of the kitty tower.
Dukee looked around and said, “It looks nice.”
“Just nice? I think it looks pretty,” Mia said and then laid down.
“Okay, it looks nice and festive,” Dukee said and then looked out the window.
Mia just sighed and then looked out the window. Dukee looked back a Mia and saw her suddenly lower her head and flatten her ears. He then slowly walked to the end of the side table to get a closer look at what Mia was seeing. Just entering the grass of the front yard were four white Ibis.
“I like those birds,” Mia whispered.
“Yeah, me too. I like how their beak is long and curved,” Dukee said while he watched them peck the ground.
“But it must be harder to eat something with a long beak, don’t you think?” Mia said.
“I never thought of it that way… I do see them shake their heads sometimes,” Dukee sat and watched.
“Maybe they have to pick up the food, shake it all the way down their beak and then into their throat,” Mia said.
“Yeah, maybe… I bet their beak is good at picking things up though,” Dukee said and then licked the top of his front paw.
“You mean like small bugs and stuff?” Mia said as she looked at Dukee.
“Yeah, and small things like treats,” Dukee said.
Mia giggled and looked at Dukee, “Is that all you ever think about?”
“What, I like my treats. But Auntie only gives me a few maybe twice a day,” Dukee said and looked back out the window.
“What about that stinky can food you get?” Mia asked.
“Stinky?” Dukee looked at Mia, “I don’t think it’s stinky unless there is something not quite right about it. Besides, that’s my food not a treat.”
“Yes, I guess you’re right there. Sometimes my moist breakfast doesn’t smell the greatest so I don’t eat it,” Mia said.
Cats can be fussy sometimes but I guess as a human, we won’t eat something either if it doesn’t smell the greatest. But anyway, Dukee and Mia want to wish you a happy Sunday and a great week ahead.

Ha ha ha, I love this story of "The Day With Dukee And Mia" today ha ha ha ! By the way, I've seen an Ibis grab a snake with its beak. The snake squiggled while trying to get out of its beak.
