It was around one in the afternoon and Mia was ready to nap on her mom’s bed. She was enjoying the warmth of the sun shining in through the window. Mia rolled over onto her back and showed the sun her soft furry belly. Boy that feels nice, she thought. Mia also liked having her mom’s slippers there near her because the scent of her mom comforted her.
Dukee was also napping on his mom’s bed. He enjoys cuddling up on the soft blanket when it’s not to warm in the house. His mom has been home more often so he also is more at ease. Dukee stretched his whole body out and then relaxed it again. He opened his eyes, saw his mom sitting there, yawned, and went back to sleep.
Sometimes the life of a house cat looks quite desirable. You sleep when you want to. Get treats most of the time when you beg for them, and is only given food that you like. You also get attention when you want it too. Otherwise things might get messed up a little or broken. And if they look at you right with that adorable face, any yelling that might happen, will be less. The thing is, cats know how to get what they want. They understand their superpower and know how to use it. But, as a paw parent, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our furry kids bring us so much joy most of the time, that some of their bad habits are pushed off to the side.
You got love them.

You sure got that superpower comment right. Our Marie used to get a drink from their water bowl in the kitchen. Then a couple months ago Paula was sitting on the edge of her bed drinking a bottle of water. Marie jumped up beside her and started nosing the bottom of the bottle. Paula held the bottle down beside Marie and pinched it to bring the water level up to the top. Marie drank and drank for a long time. Now that is the only way she will drink water. She sits on Paula's bed off and on all day and screams at us until one of us takes her a bottle of warer. Sophie won't eat unless I put her food bowl on the window ledge in my sewing room. Marie won't eat unless I put her bowl on a kitchen chair or if she is on Paula's bed I can sometimes get her to eat there. Callie eats in the laundry room then races to try and get the other two girls' food. They are sll sooo goofy.
