“I’m going to get you,” Dukee said as he peeked around the mound of paper on the floor.
“No you’re not,” Mia said as she scurried into the cardboard barn.
Dukee sat on the other side of the paper mound and watched Mia in the barn. Mia looked around inside of it and sniffed the sides. She’s been in there many times before but it’s funny how cats still have to make sure that everything is just how they left it from before. Mia watched Dukee as he walked toward the other end of the sofa and disappeared. Now’s my chance to escape, she thought.
As Dukee walked behind the sofa, Mia darted out of the barn and up and over most of the paper. She landed and slid on part of the paper but managed to run on into the front living room. Dukee was startled and ran around the wingback chair to see what Mia did. He looked around but didn’t see her anywhere in the family room. He looked toward her bedroom but then heard a crunching sound coming from the front of the house.
Dukee quietly walked down the hallway and into the front living room. He then figured out that the sound was just Mia was eating her food. Dukee jumped up onto the side table after he peeked out the narrow window. Mia quickly looked back and saw Dukee.
“See, I told you that you weren’t going to get me,” Mia said and giggled.
Dukee walked to the end of the table and sat down, “yes, you were right.”
Mia walked onto the window sill and looked outside. She then jumped up into the kitty tower tunnel backwards and crawled through. Dukee snickered at her while she tried to get her last back legs pulled through. She then stepped out onto the cube part of the tower and turned around. This time Mia crept into the tunnel and laid down like she usually does. Dukee then hopped down onto the blanket and looked out the window.
“It looks like it might be a nicer day outside today,” Dukee said.
“Yes, it might be. We sure had some storms yesterday though,” Mia said.
“Yes, we did,” Dukee said as he watched a lizard down in the flower bed.
Whatever it is that you might be doing on this Friday the 13th, please be safe out there. Dukee and Mia are just hoping for a less stormy day and night.

Ha ha ha, scaredy cat. That's my fur baby I love !
We do need the rain but not all at once. Also the tornado a few neighborhoods from us was not needed. Mia was needing more attention from me throughout the night due to all the wind and rain.
