“Hey, did you know that it’s only three more days until Christmas?” Mia called out to Dukee.
“Yes I know, that’s why I have on my hat and tie,” Dukee said as he walked down the hall to the front of the house.
When Mia saw Dukee she rolled over giggling, “he he he he he he.”
Dukee stopped and looked at her, “what? What’s so funny?”
“You, you look funny,” Mia giggled some more.
“Well, I think I look pretty festive,” Dukee said and walked over to the narrow window by the door.
Mia rolled back over onto her belly and then stood up. She tried to stop giggling as she walked around the leather sofa. But when she saw Dukee glance back at her, she busted out laughing.
“Ha ha ha ha ha,” Mia turned back around and walked over to the coffee table.
Mia was laughing so hard that when she jumped up onto the coffee table she stumbled and fell into her metal food dish.
Dukee was startled, “what was that?”
“Ha ha ha ha ha… I… ha ha, fell, ha.. into.. my food dish, ha ha ha ha.”
Mia’s laughing became so contagious that it made Dukee start laughing, “ha ha ha… are you… okay? Ha ha ha,” Dukee asked.
Still giggling, Dukee walked around the leather sofa and looked for Mia. He saw her laying on the coffee table near the cube part of the kitty tower breathing heavily, giggling, and trying to calm down.
“Are you going to be alright?” Dukee asked.
Mia glanced at Dukee and then quickly looked away, “I think so… If I look at you I might start laughing again.”
“Do you want me to leave the room?” Dukee asked her.
“No, just give me a few minutes,” Mia took a couple of deep breaths.
Dukee jumped up onto Mia’s litter box cabinet and looked out the window. He looked up into the sky and then scanned the ground. All he saw was a lizard creeping along the brick boarder of the flower bed. Where is everyone, Dukee thought.
After a few minutes Mia slowly got up and walked over to her water dishes. She felt really tired as she stood there and got a drink. Dukee glanced over at Mia and asked her if she was okay now.
“Yes, I’m okay. I feel sleepy though,” Mia said and yawned.
“Well, you were laughing really hard so that took a lot of energy out of you,” Dukee said.
“I never looked at it that way,” Mia walked over to the window sill.
Dukee noticed that Mia was now staring at him and not laughing, “why are you staring at me?”
“Oh I’m sorry, but you’re right, you do look festive. I like it,” Mia said and then looked out the window.
Dukee accepted that compliment and also looked out the window.
No matter how you celebrate the holidays, just remember to be respectful. Not everyone celebrates the way you might. And because Christmas is Monday, Mia and Dukee will be celebrating the whole weekend so there won’t be a story on Sunday. Have fun everyone and Merry Christmas.
You had me laughing right along with Mia and Dukee so hard I was crying !!!!!!
Merry Christmas and God bless.
