The Day With Dukee And Mia

Mia chased Dukee from the front living room and into the family room. Dukee quickly ran and jumped up onto the sofa. Mia ran and stopped near the one end of the sofa. Dukee rushed to that end and looked at Mia. Mia stared at Dukee and then quickly turned and ran as fast as she could through the kitchen. Dukee jumped down and ran after Mia but stopped when she stopped. Mia then ran around the dining table and into her Halloween tunnel.

Dukee cautiously trotted around the dining table and stopped near the front door. Where did she go, Dukee thought as he looked around. Mia giggled so Dukee looked towards the tunnel. He saw the end of Mia’s tail sticking out so he snickered. Before Mia knew it, Dukee ran and jumped up onto the tote right next to her.

Mia was startled and rushed through the tunnel, “hey, you scared me,” she said and quickly turned around.

Dukee snickered again and laid down on the tote, “well, the next time you want to hide, make sure you keep your tail tucked close to you.”

Mia giggled and plopped down near the end of her tunnel, “yes, I tend to forget that I’m not as small as I used to be.”

“No, you aren’t. You’re still low to the floor but you are longer than when I first moved in here,” Dukee said.

Mia looked at Dukee and thought for a minute,” how long have you been living here now?”

“I think Auntie said the other day that we have been here for three years now,” Dukee said.

“Oh… It seems longer,” Mia said and rolled over.

“Yes, sometimes it does seem longer than it is,” Dukee said and yawned.

Isn’t it interesting how time does seem to fly by sometimes? That’s why it is good to take some time each day and do something you enjoy. Like spending time with family, friends or something else. Just like me writing this story, the time can go by so fast while I try to write this just right, so, I step away at times and focus on something else. By doing that it slows the time down some and I have enjoyment of doing something different. So do yourself a favor and slow down time. Do something you enjoy but don’t lose track of time.
