The Day With Dukee And Mia

Shhh, you'll wake my mom

“Ra-ul, ra-ul… Ra-ul,” Dukee meowed as he walked into the family room.

Mia walked out of her bedroom, “shhh be quiet, my mom is still sleeping.”

Dukee turned and looked back at Mia, “oh, I'm sorry. My mom went to work early today.”

“Yes, I guessed that… Why do you say that name sometimes when you meow?” Mia sat down by the cardboard barn.

“What name?” Dukee sat down by the scratch post.

“The name Raul,” Mia said.

“I don't say that, do I?” Dukee said as he cocked his head.

“Sometimes that's what it sounds like,” Mia said and then licked the bottom of her paw.

“Oh, well I don't mean to say a name, it just comes out that way,” Dukee said.

Mia giggled, “that's just funny then.”

Just then, Mia turned her head when she heard movement in her bedroom.

“Sounds like Mom's awake,” Mia stood up.

“I hope that I didn't wake her,” Dukee said.

“Well if you did, I'll finally get my breakfast,” Mia said as she walked into her bedroom.

Dukee snickered and then walked into his bedroom. Even though he had his breakfast an hour ago, talking about it gave him the munchies. He nibbled a few kernels and then jumped up onto his and Aunties bed. I might as well take my morning nap, Dukee thought as he laid down.

Meanwhile, Mia rubbed her head on her mom's foot while she had it hanging down the side of the bed. Mia figured that if she showed Mom some love that she might hurry up and get her her breakfast. After a few minutes, Mom put her slippers on and got up. Mia got excited and ran as fast as her furry feet would go out the bedroom door. She ran through the family room, down the hall, and into the front living room. She stopped and waited for Mom but Mom didn't come quick enough. Mia trotted back toward her bedroom and noticed that her Mom was in the bathroom. Yay, it's almost breakfast time, Mia thought. Mia knew that because her mom was out of the bedroom.

Sometimes being patient can be hard but many times it works out for the best. Mia and Dukee want to wish you all a good day and a happy weekend.
