Mia and Dukee were laying on the floor at the front of the house. A few minutes pryer to that, Dukee accidentally scared Mia because she was already startled by a sound the refrigerator made. For some reason since Mia was a kitten, she would stop in front of the refrigerator and look underneath it. We have no idea what she thinks might be under there.
Dukee looked at Mia, “I'm sorry that I scared you before. What were you looking for under there?”
Mia licked the top of her paw and then proceeded to tell Dukee, “well, sometimes when I walk past that thing it does a quiet growl sound. So, I look under it to try and find what is growling.”
“How do you know that whatever is under there won't come out at you?” Dukee asked.
“I don't know and that's why you scared me when you walked up to me before,” Mia said.
“Oh. I've never heard it growl though,” Dukee said.
“I'm surprised. It also hisses once in awhile too,” Mia said.
“Hmm, I've heard a rumble from it before but nothing else,” Dukee said.
“Well, I know what I hear sometimes,” Mia said and then rolled onto her right side.
“Oh, I believe that you hear something. Maybe it is a refrigerator monster that I hear my mom say sometimes,” Dukee said.
“I hope there's no monster under there,” Mia said.
Dukee snickered and then got up, “I'm sure that there is nothing under there that will get you. Your mom and auntie wouldn't let that happen to either of us.”
Mia thought for a minute and then got up, “you're probably right but I still hear the sounds sometimes so I have to look.”
“Oh I understand,” Dukee said and then snickered as he jumped up onto the side table.
It was time to look for squirrels, Dukee thought. So he hurried to look out the window.
“Squirrels,” Dukee said to Mia.
Mia trotted over to the coffee table and jumped up onto it. She quickly but quietly moved to the window where she saw two squirrels in the grass eating acorns. Dukee squawked a funny sound which made Mia giggle.
“What was that?” Mia asked.
Dukee glanced over at her, “I don't know. It just came out like that,” Dukee said.
Still giggling, Mia said, “it sounded like a squeaker toy.”
Dukee snickered again, “Shh, we don’t want to scare the squirrels away.”
Mia had to back away from the window because she couldn't help her burst of laughter. She jumped down from the coffee table and rolled over laughing.
“It wasn't that funny,” Dukee said but continued to watch the squirrels.
“Hehehe… Yes it was. It sounded like someone stepped on a squeaker toy,” Mia giggled some more.
Dukee softly meowed at the squirrel as it came closer to the flower bed. Mia finally calmed herself down and took a deep breath. She laid there for a couple of minutes before she got back up.
Dukee looked down at Mia, “are you alright now?”
Mia looked up at Dukee, “Yes, I think so.”
Mia then jumped up onto the kitty tower and climbed up into the tunnel part of it.
Mia and Dukee then quietly watched as another squirrel entered the yard and joined the other two feasting on acorns and mushrooms. The tree in our front yard this year has produced enough nuts for the squirrels as if we were planning for a northern winter. Feast happily little squirrels.
Until next week, Dukee and Mia hope that you all have a wonderful week.
Our Marie and Csllie both spend time looking under the fridge. I have gotten a flashlight to try and see what they are looking for but don't ever see anything. Guess your "monster" has relatives under ours, lol.
Ha ha ha hah sounds like he stepped on a squeaker toy. Ha ha ha, I love it !!!
