The Day With Dukee And Mia
Dukee and Mia were in the front living room looking out the window. They both watched a squirrel as it climbed up the trunk of the tree and carefully stepped onto the wire that goes to the house.
“I've seen them crawl along that before, but do you think it's safe for them?” Mia asked.
“I'm sure they sense what is dangerous and what isn't,” Dukee said.
“Do you really think so?” Mia said and looked at Dukee.
“Well, you can sort of sense danger, right?” Dukee asked.
Mia thought about it for a minute, “yes, I guess you're right. I thought I was just being a scaredy cat.”
“Well, it's okay to be scared sometimes too. I get scared, and I'm sure our mom's do too sometimes,” Dukee said and licked his right paw.
“Oh, I never thought of that… It's part of living isn't it?” Mia said.
“I believe so. That's why we learn about stuff, so we can make good judgments,” Dukee said and then yawned.
“I know that I don't say this very often, but you're pretty smart,” Mia said to Dukee.
Dukee looked over at Mia and said, “thank you.”
Dukee laid down on the blanket and looked back out the window. Mia continued to lay in the cube part of the kitty tower and watched for critters. Sometimes what we learn in life, we don’t think is always useful. We might not notice it until a later time how useful some knowledge might be.
Oh, and Mia and Dukee want to wish you all a wonderful weekend.
