Dukee walked out of Mia’s bedroom and was startled to see Mia standing there.
“What were you doing in my room?” Mia asked.
“Well, um… I was just looking around,” Dukee said and then slowly walked around Mia.
Mia went in her bedroom and looked around. She also jumped up onto the bed to make sure that her treats were still in the dish that was there. She then hopped down and walked back into the family room. Dukee was now sitting on his brown paper in front of the sofa.
Mia walked over to Dukee and asked, “what were you looking for in there?”
“I was just wondering if you still had food in there… Why do you have two food stations?” Dukee asked.
“What do you mean, food stations?” Mia asked.
“You know, the place where your mom gives you your food. You have one out there in the living room. And you have one in your bedroom,” Dukee said.
“Oh, I don’t know. My mom just does it that way for me,” Mia said.
“Do you like that food that you get?” Dukee asked and then licked his side.
“I like my dry food, but I’m still not sure about the moist food she gives me. Do you like your food?” Mia asked.
“Yes, for the most part. I like the treats better though. I don’t like for your dry food though. I try it once in awhile but still don’t care for it,” Dukee said.
“Well, you’re not supposed to be eating mine anyways,” Mia said.
“I know,” Dukee said and then walked toward the kitchen.
Mia wanted to be sneaky so she turned and ran down the hallway to beat Dukee to the front living room. She crept into the dining area and waited by her moms desk. Dukee knew that Mia was up to something when he heard her run. He slowed down his walking and listened as he headed toward the refrigerator. Just beyond the refrigerator was the doorway to the dining area. Dukee stopped and waited. Mia was wondering where Dukee was so she peeked around the desk.
“I knew you were there,” Dukee said.
Mia giggled, “how did you know that?”
“Well, when you ran down the hallway I figured that you were going to do something,” Dukee said and then walked past her.
“You just think that you are so smart don’t you?” Mia said as she got up and turned toward Dukee.
“No, you’re just predictable,” Dukee said and jumped up onto the bench.
Mia paused for a minute and thought, let him predict this. Since Dukee was now looking out the window, Mia didn’t think that Dukee would expect what she was about to do. She quietly crept towards Dukee and looked at his tail that was dangling there. She stopped and hit his tail with her left paw and then ran into the living room.
“See, predictable,” Dukee called out as he looked in her direction.
Mia jumped up onto the kitty tower and crawled into the tunnel part of it, “did you really expect me to do that?”
“Yes. You’re obsessed with my back end,” Dukee snickered.
“No I’m not. It’s just easier to pick on you from behind,” Mia said.
Dukee laid down on the bench and watched a squirrel that crept into the front yard. He knew that he was bigger then Mia and that she knows that too. So he let her have her fun this time without saying anything.
The two of them are pretty good with each other most of the time. But every once in awhile, one of them gets ornery and tries to pick a fight. Of course it gets stopped by one of their mom’s though.
