“Where are you frog, I’m waiting for you,” Mia said while she stood up next to the window.
“Maybe it’s over by the other window,” Dukee said from the floor.
“No, lately it’s been coming to this window,” Mia said and continued to look around the outside frame.
Dukee peeked out the narrow window by the front door and noticed how dark it was outside, “it sure looks dark out there tonight. Maybe the frog is there but you can’t see it.”
Mia sat down on the window sill, glanced in the direction of Dukee, and said, ”no, I can usually see it… Oh wait, here it comes.”
Mia sat still and watched the frog as it crept up onto the ledge outside of the window. Dukee walked over to the side table, jumped up onto it, and startled Mia.
“Hey, you scared me Dukee, and now the frog disappeared,” Mia said.
Dukee looked at Mia and said, “oh, I’m sorry. You know it will be back.”
“I know, but I’ve been waiting for it all night,” Mia said and looked around the outside of the window.
The two of them waited for about three minutes and then Mia turned around. She stepped onto the coffee table, ate a few kernels of her food, and then hopped down to the floor.
"Where are you going?” Dukee looked at her and asked.
“No where, I’m just going to lay down here for a few minutes. Let me know when the frog comes back,” Mia said.
Mia laid down on the rug and stretched out her legs. Just like that, Mom walked into the room and sat down in her chair. Dukee looked at her, looked at Mia, and then back out the window. Mia rolled over onto her back and looked at her mom upside down. Mom told Mia that she was a silly girl. Mia didn’t care though because she was comfortable.
Just then the frog jumped up onto the window and made a splat sound. Mia quickly rolled over and then jumped up onto the kitty tower. She looked and saw the big green frog. Dukee cocked his head and watched it as it crawled along the glass a few inches. Mia then pounced at the window and pawed the glass. This time the frog didn’t leave. Dukee snickered at Mia while she tried to get the frog. She kept trying until the frog hopped back down to the window ledge.
I think what Mia wants you all to know is that even when you can’t get something you want right away, it doesn’t mean you should stop trying.
