Mia had just gotten done racing around in her bedroom when she jumped up onto the bed and plopped. The floof on her right side moved quickly while she breathed heavily. Her little heart inside of her chest pound fairly hard too.
Dukee walked out of his bedroom and stopped in the hallway. He looked in Mia’s bedroom and saw her laying on the bed.
“Were you just running around in there?” Dukee asked her.
“Maybe, why?” Mia asked.
“I was just wondering and I thought I heard you. You know, I am feeling better if you want to chase me,” Dukee said.
“That's good to hear. But this house seems smaller and there's stuff in the way. So I think it would be more difficult to chase you,” Mia said.
“Yeah, I can understand that. It could be more challenging though. Don't you like a challenge?” Dukee asked.
“Well, sometimes, but I don't want to knock anything over either,” Mia said.
“Yeah, I see your point,” Dukee said and then turned and walked into the living room.
Dukee walked over to the sliding glass door and looked out it. He caught a glimpse of a seagull as it flew by the house. Dukee then meowed a loud meow. His mom heard him from the other room and came over to him. She asked him if he wanted to go out onto the porch. Dukee meowed again so she let him out.
Dukee then jumped up onto the empty tote and laid down. He sniffed the air for anything interesting and then closed his eyes.
He was ready for a short morning nap.
The temperature outside this morning is very nice. And other than the squawks of the seagulls, it is fairly quiet too.
Back in Mia’s bedroom, she saw her lambchop toy laying near her and decided to play with it. She picked it up with her mouth and tossed it into the air.
“Hey,” her mom said as the toy hit her in the chest.
Mia quickly turned around and saw her mom holding her lambchop. Sorry mom, Mia thought. Her mom tossed the toy onto the floor and Mia hopped down after it. Mia giggled and continued to play with it. Mia tends to toss her little stuffies quite often. Her mom found Mia’s pink peep on her dresser the other day. Well, as long as she is having some fun is all that really matters.
Life is short so toss a toy once in awhile and have some fun. Until next time, Mia and Dukee hope that you stay cool and stay hydrated.
I'm so glad Dukee is doing a little better and that Mia is playing with her toys and running around. It shows she's not so scared about the new home much anymore.
