Mia walked into the front living room and jumped up onto the coffee table. She walked over to her bowl and ate a few kernels of her food.
Dukee looked over at Mia and asked her, “how’s your mom doing today?”
Mia crunched the kernels in her mouth and then replied, “she is doing really good. I sure did miss her though.”
“I know you did. Even though my mom was here, I still missed yours,” Dukee said.
Mia walked over to the window sill near Dukee and looked outside. She then looked at Dukee and said, “I appreciate what your mom does for me when my mom isn’t here but it just worries me when my mom doesn’t come home.”
“I can understand that. It is nice sometimes to have time to ourselves but it worries me too when our moms are gone all day. We need to show our appreciation to them more often, don’t you think?” Dukee said.
Mia thought for a moment and then replied, “I think my mom already knows I missed her.”
“How do you know?” Dukee asked.
“Because I have been allowing her to massage me a lot more,” Mia said.
Dukee snickered and shook his head, “do you at least give her a kiss or something?”
“Oh yeah, and even a few love nibbles,” Mia said, turned around, and hopped down off the table.
As Mia left the front living room and walked towards her bedroom, Dukee said quietly, “I am happy that both of our mom’s are home. I just wish I knew what all this packing meant. Are we moving again?”
Just then two squirrels scampered into the front yard so that grabbed Dukee’s attention.
We are still packing up to move back by the rest of the family, but because of my sisters unexpected surgery we did have to postpone it until the fourteenth of May. My sister is doing very well but no lifting for her yet. Now next week is the move so I might not have a story ready. But hopefully the following week Mia and Dukee will have new adventure or two to talk about.
Until next time, Mia and Dukee wish all mom’s a Very Happy Mother’s Day.
I'm sure all our furbabies wish there moms a Happy Mother's Day this coming Sunday of 2025 !
