The Day With Dukee And Mia

Dukee walked out of his bedroom, into the family room and sat down. All of a sudden, Mia ran quickly past him and into her bedroom. Dukee was surprised by her quickness and the wind that he even felt on his fur because of her.

“Is someone here?” Dukee whispered as he looked toward the front door.

Dukee didn’t see anyone or hear the door bell, but he waited and watched anyway. But, it wasn’t long before Dukee was startled by a bang in Mia’s room. He looked and saw Mia run out of her room and then slid and stopped in the family room.

“What are you doing?” Dukee asked her.

Mia giggled and took a deep breath, “I’m getting my exercise. You know that I like to do that.”

“But what do you bang in your bedroom?” Dukee asked while he walked over to her.

“Oh, sometimes it’s the door, and other times I think it’s the chair that I jump off of in there. Why, was it loud?” Mia said.

“Well, it’s louder when I’m in my bedroom because sometimes you hit the wall, but this time I was just wondering,” Dukee sat down and then licked his side.

“Oh, well I usually leave the room fast so I don’t notice it that much, sorry,” Mia said.

“Well, at least you’re quiet while everyone is sleeping. Although, I do hear you playing with your marbles sometimes,” Dukee said.

“Oh, yeah, my Mom whispers something to me at times when I get too loud with those,” Mia said and then walked toward the kitchen.

“Are you going to do more exercising?” Dukee asked.

“No, I’m going to see if there are any critters out front,” Mia said.

“Oh, can I come with you and see?” Dukee asked.

“Well, okay, but you stay on your side of the bench,” Mia said.

“I will,” Dukee said.

After three years of living together, Mia finally accepts that Dukee is her friend. He might get a little anxious to play with her sometimes but Mia let’s him know when she is and isn’t interested. The two of them hang out together more now by the windows. And when Mia is in a playful mood, she will chase Dukee when he coaxes her. Mia might be smaller then Dukee but she has the strength in her attitude for sure. Just like many females in this world I believe.
