Dukee was walking up to the cardboard cottage when he heard a hiss. He quickly stopped and slowly turned his head. There he saw Mia laying inside of it. Dukee carefully took a step back and sat down.
“What’s wrong Mia?” Dukee asked.
Mia was quiet but only for a minute.
“I'm still trying to get used to this place,” Mia said.
“Oh, I can understand that. I'm still getting used to it too,” he said.
“You are?” Mia replied.
“Sure, we all are still adjusting to our new home,” Dukee said.
“Oh, okay. I didn't realize that,” Mia said.
“Mia, we all are going to be great. There is new stuff for us to watch and still plenty of areas to explore. You just need to relax a little more,” Dukee explained.
Mia crept to the edge of the cottage and peeked out at Dukee, “I'm just taking it slow,” she said
Dukee looked at Mia, “I understand that, we all adjust differently.”
Dukee saw Mia put her head down on her paw and figured that it was okay to pass. Dukee then walked over to the chaise, jumped up on it and then onto the side table. I think that I might take a nap, Dukee thought and then laid down.
The side table right by the window is Dukee’s favorite spot right now because he can watch everything that passes by. Mia has been exploring more and more but usually when night time falls. Getting used to all the different sounds and smells of the old place will take some time for all of us but it is doable.
Until next week, Dukee and Mia hope that you have a not too hot June.
