Dukee was laying on his plastic bag in the family room when he heard some kind of sound come from the front living room. His curiosity got the better of him so he got up and walked down the hallway.
Dukee stopped and looked around before he entered the living room. What caught his attention then as he entered was Mia sitting on her scratch board.
“Was that you making that noise?” Dukee asked her.
“What noise? I was just moving this thing around,” Mia said and then laid down on it.
“Oh, well that was probably it then,” Dukee said and then sat down on the rug about three feet away from Mia.
Mia watched Dukee as he twisted and licked an area on his left side. When he was done, he looked at Mia. He noticed that she looked somewhat confused and a little sleepy as she laid there.
“What’s wrong Mia,” Dukee asked her.
Mia yawned first and then replied, “why is auntie leaving and coming back at strange hours of the night? She scared the fluff off of me the first night.”
Dukee snickered and then said, “oh, yeah that is weird that all of a sudden she is doing that. The first night seemed okay for me but the second night, I didn't know if she was coming back.”
“But do you know what is going on?” Mia asked him again.
“Well, I heard her say inventory a couple of times. So, the only thing that I can figure is that it is something different that she is doing at her job,” Dukee explained.
Mia licked the top of her paw and then asked, “do you know how long she will be doing this?”
“I think she said one more night,” Dukee said, stood up, and then jumped up onto Mia’s litter box cabinet.
“Well, I sure hope that things get back to the way they were soon,” Mia said and then yawned again.
Mia then watched Dukee as he glanced around while looking out the window. When Dukee meeped at something outside, Mia quickly scurried under the kitty tower. That is one of Mia’s new observation spots. She is able to look up and see through a specific space in order to spy on the birds or squirrels that go on the hanging bird feeder.
Sometimes, Dukee isn't even aware that Mia is under there because she is so still and quiet. She's a pretty good observer. Whereas Dukee has to make his presence known to all who come to visit. He might not do it right away, but eventually, whatever is outside will see and hear him.
Until next week when I hope that all will be back to normal, Mia and Dukee wish for you a wonderful week.
I love this story 😄💗! It made me laugh out loud where Mia said, " she scared the fluff off me the first night "!
